So I have been playing this game for many hours, maybe 20, and I am really liking it. For fellow cRPG'ers I would really suggest this game. The only part I really didnt like about it was the intro town....if you can make past the boring and very easy starting town (really I almost quit playing it was so bad) it really opens up into something that reminds me of a blend between NeverWinter Nights series and Baulders Gate series but the graphics are much more advanced...almost Mass Effect quality.

Over 20 classes to choose from. Once you build a character it is very open. There are very few class/race/gender restrictions. The biggest one I have found is spellcasters cant wear any metal armor, which is normal really...Non Spell caster classes can never learn spells. ALthough their special abilities make up for it. Advanced Character sheet and leveling, which I enjoy. Also has team multiplayer, which is why I am posting this in hopes that others like it enough to start a playing a multiplayer campaign.

Anyways this as well as Sacred 2 are going to hopefully hold me over until Diablo 3.

No Joke the first town is so horrible it almost ruined the game for me. Luckily I didn't have any new games to play so I stuck with it and played through it and am glad I did.

One other note. I started as a BattleMage (I always play a caster) which I think I may have choosen differently, but I don't know for sure. But I am 8th level and still have no area effect spells. In D&D and other games a spellcaster never is as powerful as a fighter class in the start, which I expect, but usually once you hit mid levels the spellcaster starts to pull a head in power and becomes uber powerful in the end levels.

So I think playing spellcasters is much like the first town. If you can survive until you get area effect spells (damage/Buffs/DeBuffs) its a hard class to play. Luckily you have stong fighter companions to make up for the spellcasters weakness.

Picked it up on Sunday. In the starter town. Controls are hard to get used to and the tutorials are not very clear most of the time. It tells me there are plants on the side of the road to be used in alchemy, so I click on one, but I can't pick it and it doesn't tell me what I need to do it.

Gives me adventure points, but doesn't tell me what I can use them for.

It's a pretty enough game, and those few things aren't enough to make me stop playing it. I like finding things out, but if it's to the point where the tutorials don't help you learn the game, then it's not worth playing. Especially a game such as this where there are a lot of complex pieces to it.

Well you need the alchemy skill to use the plants you harvest, and you need the Plant skill to harvest plants.

I finally got FireBall and LightingBall, and WOW!!! Very powerfull spells. Now I understand why they make you wait until 9th Level. First Fireball I launched did 38 Damage to a group of about 8 goblins, and then they burned for 4 rounds at 5hp a sec, killed all of them. OUch!!

The controls do take a little getting used to, and when I first started I though they were really poorly designed, but that was at the start of the game. Now, with more creatures and party members on the screen I don't think you could make the controls any better.

Right, so you need the plant skill. How do you get that? Alchemy skill, how do you get that?

Well when you go into your Character sheet screen...Click on the Big Red Circle with a X in the middle...This will change your character sheet to edit mode.

Then you can add points to skills you have access to. Some Skills, like alchemy, depending on class, must be purchased from a Herbalist. For instance a Ranger starts with plant skill, but a knight doesn't. So you take the Knight to the herbalist, buy the skill with Money and XP points.

Then go into the character sheet, unlock for editing mode, and apply points to the newly purchased skill. You can also increase your attributes, health, and mana here.

All combat skills need to be purchased, which is more like training. Like Knockdown, you have to find a vendor that will train you to use the skill. Costs like 100XP and 5Ducats to learn the skill.

The Knight you team up (depending on quest selections) with is just awesome. So far the best NPC I have found by far. Comes in at Lvl 11, and had a ton of skills already purchased. Plus he does HUGE damage with his 2 Handed sword.

Another note is the Vacuum Spell. Area of Effect, Knocks every one in the radius on their butt for 2 rounds and it does 1d6 damage per round...so a min of getting knocked down and 4d6 damage. Pretty cool and faster in-battle cast time then fireball.

Had a look at gametrailers, it's similar to Baldur's Gate with better graphics. I'll pass for now.

Well I fought my first really big lizard, not a dragon, more like a basilisk / Pseudo Dragon. Except turning you to stone it had a nasty breath weapon. Was an acid cloud that stuck to you like napalm. Was pretty a good fight.

Whew...pretty steep learning curve... But, definitely a nice game...little trouble getting used to the interface... and where the hell is the jump!! heheh keep hitting space bar, and pausing/unpausing Still, thanks for the introduction.

Have you killed the Purple Wyrm yet?

For me, the hardest creature to kill so far has to be the Mother Rat.

That mother rat was a serious pain in the butt. I couldn't defeat it until after I had came back from the witches quest. My starting spells just didn't hurt it at all. I think my party was average of level 7 before I could kill her. Even thos Black Wolf Rats were tough.

Havent made it to the purple worm yet, I am still questing on the map right after you kill the horrid stinking lizard.

I have to say, the Grolm King is absolutely kicking my ass!

I just cannot seem to figure out a way to kill him.

You must be way a head of me. I just finished the poisoned Dwarf quest. Not even sure who Grolm King is. LOL.

The first dragon fight was pretty good. Thank god for Fire Salve!! Didn't have any problem with that one, maybe cause it was wounded and young.

Well, I finally killed that Grolm King.

I am at the end game with the last boss.

Other than the Mother Rat and the Grolm King, this game is fairly easy. And, I am doing it without any magic, strictly hack and slash.
