they had some good shows, but they went full PC or something a while back, to an 'impossible for most entertainment' degree.
black mirror was decent, then it did a 180 & became mainstream garbage. im having a hard time thinking of other examples, but thats the point.
if i had to guess, i would say they are trying to include diversity, for the sake of diversity.
as an example, i was looking for horror movies to watch one night, & it was an ocean of these odd indian/asian films, which are heavily built off culture, & regional beliefs, which unless youre of that culture, are often not scary, or exciting or interesting to any degree (atleast in my opinion). theyre mostly campy, weird comedy/laugh/shock films, which is decidedly not horror, except maybe to a target audience.
in my opinion, horror for the most part has died, this generation seems incapable of writing an original horror movie that doesnt include some ridiculous premise for the main characters to carry a camcorder all the film, or some equally dumb cliché' junk about ghosts, or haunting of 'insert location'.
you cant have an agenda, while trying to entertain, without giving up the latter for the former at some point in the making of the show/film.
