So it's nice I catch a break..

Like a tiger to pounce lol..
Then bam, dx11 baby!

Stoked I'll finally be able to see what the buzz is about.

Skipped Vista completely? Well I did only about half way. I jumped on board after seeing my 4GB ram wasn't being used.

Quite the jump going from XP to Win7 eh? Probably like relearning Windows.

A couple hundred bucks to buy 7 with..

I was helping people with vista and 7 problems ever since they came out anyway.
I'm more comfortable with it than a lot of people who have owned it since it came out..lol

I won't be making the mistake of installing to the program files direcrtory.
and "run as administrator" is my new best friend....lol

I'm quite the opposite... I had vista 64-bit on launch day... All I have to say is that I wanted to burn an effigy of the nvidia driver team every day for the first six months. God damn it was terrible trying to use any games or anything, only game I could really get to work was CS:S

I remember what my pals in l4d were going through for a while on vista.
My brother has pinnacle video editing.
Pretty expensive software for a very expensive video camera.

Every time he started it, even though it said "vista compatible" on the box.
it crashed him.
Imagine trying to explain to half a dozen brides, why they won't be getting their wedding videos on time..

Brings the term Bridezilla to a whole new level.

But I don't wanna bash vista.
This thread is really meant to be taken lightly.
It's more of a joke than anything, so please don't take it seriously.
I know some people get all worked up over this stuff. lol

I hated Vista with a passion, but I think I hated Creative more. Then something changed (I switched to Auzentech). Vista was as good as gold from that day on and I've yet to really have a problem since. In fact I just purchased another Vista copy (64 bit Home Premium) for $50 CAD. Great deal.

As for, all the Vista bashing, sorry peoples, I never had any problems. Except having to wait for the dummies at HP to update my printer driver. I had it working any way, just wanted official drivers.
And, the only crashes were my fault.

My only reason for hating Vista was my hatred for Creative and their lack of support. Unfortunately Vista got hate by association. And yes they did change the audio blah blah etc. I know the reasons why Creative wasn't supporting Vista, but they fell down on the job hard even though there was a change in how Audio was done in the OS. Vista will be on my shelf and in use somewhere for many more years to come alongside my Windows 7. XP will have a key around for emergencies but its been replaced by Vista on my 'not main' machines.

I went right from WinXP Pro 32-bit to Win7 Pro 64-bit, no Vista anywhere. Not because I was avoiding, but because I didn't really have the need. Plus there was so much talk of Windows 7 pretty quickly that I figured it wouldn't hurt to just wait. I'm glad to be done with XP though to be honest.

Unfortunately, I was forced also to use Windows ME for a few years when I got my first computer from Dell in 2001 and didn't know any better. I'm surprised I even chose to pursue a hobby in computers after that experience! :banghead:

Oh, I have not purchased a creative pos, since they screwed everybody on drivers ( they would not update them, so I bought a US robotics ) for my creative modem back in the early 80's. Since then, to me, they do not exist.

Creative could sell dollar bills for half price and somehow they would screw you.

Heh, sort of. I went from XP 32/64 to Win7x64 Ultimate RC (plus my new laptop has 7 x64) and when my RC ran out I installed Vista on that machine - I downgraded my friend's prebuilt from Vista to XP for him a couple years before so I had an OEM key lying around.

I know; not strictly legal, but close enough IMO.

Now after that I've been through

Having used 7 first; Vista feels decidedly "unpolished". Think I'll convert that vista box into an Ubuntu or FC12(preview) to make better use of its admittedly low-end hardware

Ug Realtek kills me..
This onboard sound stuff is a pain in the arse..
Seems like a sound card is an absolute necessity now a days.
I end up with sound lag in some games due to it.
A conspiracy I say.

But I am thoroughly enjoying this.
It looks so nice.
with it's semi transparent bars and blurring effects.
Seems very easy to use.
I have had no problem locating all of my hardware and software.
No problems adjusting firewall and security settings, or any other settings that I always change when I install an OS.
Flash and adobe are installed np. windows C++ and frameworks np.
flash player and divx codecs.
All the stuff a growing boy whos not a boy anymore needs.

If win 7 was Mcdonalds, I'd be lovin it..

If it's a conspiracy, Creative must be in on it... Paying Realtek and Via to suck so that people buy their cards again after they promised themselves they wouldn't.

I need to use a plastic case foot as a spacer between my GFX card and my XFI (forces the X-fi to bend and sit cockeyed in the slot) or else I get no sound. Creative FTW :shadedshu

Edit... Actually I lied. I had to go from a case foot to a standoff the other day, the case foot wasn't tall enough

Next round's an Auzen methinks.

My creative sound card won't even register and I barely even used it.
I was seeing on the forums about baking a gpu.
I might do that to my sound card.
Not to fix it..

Yeah I thought about baking my XFI (bending the card to make it work seems like a BGA or Surface-Mount connection problem; but the crappy Fatal1GAY box thing would melt; not to mention the 3.5mm jacks... kind of useless then.
