RainbowSix Raven Shield and Starcraft. Still there wasnt a game that had such an amaizing gameplay.

And all those Atari/Amiga games that werent supereme in GFX but were totally aimed for players fun. I think I always try and get this feeling back with new games so yeah they spoiled a lot for me.

Oblivion, because everyone loves it and for some reason it's a bar people want to reach. Seriously, it's hardly an RPG at all, and a bad one at that.

Otherwise games don't ruin games for me.

You should give Heroes of Newerth a shot then. I've been playing it for 3 days now. Mostly same heroes but with better graphics and u can connect after a disconnection. There is also a rating system.

Anyway started with counter strike->diablo2->some rpgs-> dota->more rpgs-> WoW for almost 2 years and now HoN.

I actually thought I'd never leave WoW but Blizzard annoyed me too much. Considering setting up linux and playing HoN there.

Playing HoN nowadays because my buddies are away in Easter Holidays. Add me, I'm Fourstaff. Going back to DotA in less than a weeks's time though.

For me it was Portal. A nice simple game that still had buckets of fun behind it.

31 yesterday ;)

Then you should be listing Final Fantasy III and Quake in there. MW2 is a joke even by todays low standards.

Oh and happy b-day! (slaps hookey on the back)

TBH, Im only going on what I can remember lol.

I really enjoyed MW2. I think its because I was forced to get it on the console so I wasnt dragged into the debate about the problems with the PC version. I know its nothing ground breaking (graphically) but I really liked the storyline. But this is probably because I liked the CoD4 storyline so much.

PLUS, Ive played sooooooooooo many games, that Ive had plenty of "OMFG, this pwns everything else!" moments :D

PS: I got into PC gaming quite late and Ive never actually played Quake :(

Then I excuse you.

Just remove MW2 and replace it with something like Street Fighter or Lunar.

RTS - not much of an afficionado. I suck at it (except Starcraft)

RPGs - FallOut 1. Prior to this, my only perception of RPGs were JRPGs (FF, legend of mana, ChronoTrigger) I felt leet playing JRPG and looked down on those who does not play it. Installed fallout since I thought it was like Diablo only with guns. Tinkered around a bit, and I was hooked. You can frigin kill the townsfolk, steal from merchants, choose your own dialogue, and bang hookers! I never went back to playing JRPG ever since, and looked down on those who do. The only rpg that beat it was Fallout2.

FPS - BadCompany2.. tasted destructable MP from RedFaction, modern guns and unlocks from MW, but this one combined it all with vehicles and bullet delay and gravity. Will sneer on mp fps that does not have this feature I guess..

Racing - NFS Most Wanted. Not much of a sim fan really. But this is the only racing game that made me want to finish it. Shift and Grid was good, but it didnt have that 'go home early to play it' feel. I saw that I was more inclined to this kind of racing sub genre (Arcade Racer with ok physics).

FPS: BF:BC2 (destructible cover :rockout:)
RPG: Pokemon (red/blue/yellow) yes i said it. I spent countless hours on those games developing my characters and completed the game fully, which is something i rarely do today.
MMO: SW:G (before they introduced classes, when it was anyone could learn any skill)
Racing simulator: gran turismo 3
Racing arcade: burnout revenge
TBS: Civ 2
RTS: was red alert, then cnc generals, now it's supreme commander FA
Lightgun: Time crisis 2
Combat flight sim: combat flight simulator 3.

Yes most of these are modern games, but that's because we are seeing some decent innovation at the moment.

Only a few games myself.

Online FPS: Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 i seriously can't play other Online shooters since it doesn't feel the same and i love long range shots without a scope on a rifle.

Combat Flight Simulator: IL2 Sturmovik with Mods is a must. Tried CFS3 but hated it, and felt really 'arcadey' in comparaison.

Hands down final fantasy 7..

True that. I can't play Final Fantasy anymore with 7 and beyond, because I prefer to play games, not watch 30 minute cutscenes and 5 minute special attacks.

I play almost all of the gaming genres but I prefer a lot of realism in my games, so :

RTS - Company of Heroes. The first time I heard the distant dull thud of an off screen shell
burst over my speakers....wow! Of course the graphics and gameplay were the things that
made me buy it, twice, but the sound quality was a total surprise. I actually felt fear
when I heard an 88mm blast from where I've just sent my Shermans tanks to.

FPS - Arma 2. I want to say Bad Company 2 but the destruction effects were a bit like crumbling
cookies. And the grenades in Modern Warfare 1 just spoiled MW2 for me.

RPG - Oblivion. I spent more time hunting deers outside the cities than actually finishing the
quests. Fallout 3 was great but the gun play was too tame.

RACE - DIRT 2 and NFS : Most Wanted. I just love rally and the sun glare effects on the asphalt
at dusk in Most Wanted took my breath away. A similar situation in real life nearly
made me run over a couple on a motorbike with my car. Yeah, I was commenting to
myself how the sun set looked similar to the game before I realized there was a bike in
front of me.

MISC - Mech Warrior 4 Mercenaries. I'm still playing that (currently playing it. Couldn't instal
Metro 2033 due to connection problems. The game uses Steam, nuff said.) and I'm still
waiting for Mech Warrior 5. Any update on that?

Flight - IL-2 Sturmovik : 1946. Keeping the lost art of dive bombing and true dog fighting alive.

P.S : I'm unable to fight online with my Bad Company 2 so I don't know the weapons available in multiplayer. I do notice in a cut scene near the end of BC2 a enemy soldier was told to shoot down the squad's Blackhawk. He uses an RPG-7 but at the same time there is a AT-4 on his back. While playing the whole campaign I have never seen or used the RPG-7 but it existed in that particular scene. Does it exist in the multiplayer or is it because the weapon is widely associated with taking down helos? Just curious.
Sorry if this is off topic.

Then you should be listing Final Fantasy III and Quake in there. MW2 is a joke even by todays low standards.
