Looks like one web store is advertising 612MHz GPU core clock
    look here
We will find out in a few more days...

wow so 512 cores at GTX 470 speeds... i dont see how this will beat a 6990 at this point, less ram lower clock speeds if that link is correct. and a higher price tag, i hope nvidia has some magic pixie dust in there bag of tricks as at high resolutions games like metro already use more ram then the gpus get on a 590 so i just yea this is gonna be a slogging match, altho i be the 590 will probably overclock better then a 6990 hands down if given good cooling.

I'll just quote myself from the other 590 thread:

If this runs under 600MHz core, then this product is a friggin waste of silicon. Why put it out there if you can achieve similar performance with a pair of 560s@900MHz and in the same power envelope no less. Unless of course your main purpose is to greatly stretch your profit margins and rip off your customers?

I bet this is also one of the reason EVGA and Galaxy put 460 cores in their dual solutions - they were simply denied to use proper 560s because they would step all over the 590's heels at almost half the price...

I hope I'm wrong but things are starting to smell very fishy...

    A pair of 560s OCed:

"Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 298 Watts"

    A 6990:

Notice how they both produce 102fps@19x12 in BC2. The only reason the 560 fall back at 25x16 is because of their 1GB memory buffer.

I'd use W1z's charts but he doesn't seem to have an overclocked sli review.

Looks like Crysis 2 will be part of the review once the 590 is released. Once DX11 is released I wonder if they will use the Endless City demo approach? In other words, you won't be able to see specific features unless you use 64x of it?

In any case here is the source.

with 600 core clock, it wont beat a 6990.

A simulated version of it (580 SLi downclocked to 600 core vs 6990)

As with the GTX 295 though, I bet it will overclock very nicely!

With that said however, I am disappointed in the clocks of this dual GPU:(

I had a GTX 295, the single PCB version. it didnt overclock well. Probably from heat / limited watts.. made the GTX260 sli a better option back then (which I also had, and they overclock better.). Im thinking its dejavu with this card again.

    Going on that....

the 6990 has a 13% lead on fps based on those clocks. Applying a naive clocks scaling (assuming 100% scaling) you'd need 678 core to match the 6990. On power scaling that would make it 587 watts on the dirt2 bench which is 37% more consumption than the 6990.

    Ouch.

I think it's a good chance, come 28nm, AMD might be able to take the single gpu title. They spent the time up to the 69 series working on adaptations brought about by the missed production node. NV were still dusting off GF100 to make GF110. Come 28nm, AMD have a head start in efficiency and architecture. (cue 'discussions' of a heated variety).

Shorter than the 6990. It looks as long as a 6970.

    Cheap ass looking store....

Unless this is a little power friendly silent miracle worker (because it's going to be under performing the 6990) NV are crazy for having the price I think most people are expecting.

Unless it's a guaranteed overclocker to above 6990 levels (but therefore a power hog too).

    Gosh, this will be interesting.

BTW, I forgot to mention we pay 23% of tax here. So price may vary, drastically...and this is pre-order price.

I do. If it's got tits and ass on the front, it's probably a flesh mag. If it's got planets and stars and a man in a wheelchair, it's probably a science book. If it's got a sport montage it's maybe a sports book.

Sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover. ;)

My understanding of life is 'judge first, reappraise later when sufficient evidence allows'.

    Cheap ass store...

thats pretty cool, likes just like a 295, considerably shorter than a 6990 too! I never would have guessed that.

still seems like it will end up a bit slower than a 6990, but given the right cooling I feel like it has more potential overclocked vs overclocked.

    review me up!

Knowing nvidia's obsession with having the fastest card at all costs makes me think that these low performance rumours are just a smokescreen. ;)

Anyway, we'll know for sure tomorrow or the 24th.

We need to see the review first, then we can judge which is the fastest graphic.. In the world.. And of course we will wait W1zzard to review this card.. :)

damn 384 bit?? thats gonna screw it, they should have made it 512 bit like they do their high end cards. or at least did. TSUN post some benches comparing the cards instead of just pics of the card. the GPU-Z screenie is great thank you! can you post screenshots of the sensor tab under load?? heat will be a big factor for buyers. but if this card really is $700+ it will not be worth it whatsoever.

the GTX580 and 480 before it were 384-bit GDDR5, it would take a GPU redesign to get 512-bit on these cards, not that its even needed at the moment. 384-bit GDDR5 packs a sweet boxload of bandwidth.

exactly 384-bit gddr5 has wayyyyy more bandwidth than 512-bit gddr3.

I dunno from the info we've got so far, it's gonna be messy for Nvidia. If the gpu-z numbers are true, then their only saving grace is if they did some miracle work with the drivers and somehow provide almost perfect sli scaling. Just a few more days till we find out...
