I have a good amount of cash coming in tomorrow for a job I just completed and my bills are paid except for my cell phone($55 cell bill isn't going to stop this). Where can I order a 7970 from?

Well damn, that means I'll have a week to think about if I want to spend the money. Usually when that happens, I end up not spending the money.

I'm seeing lower pre-order prices, thank goodness. I'm glad I cancelled my order.. which turned out to be a pre-order due to some "embargo". Saved me at least a hundred bucks.

It was a clever move from amd to allow so much headroom with the new 7970, it gives the end users what they want, to endlessly tweak haha.
I want to get one, i have the cashish, but im finding it hard to justify because i caint find any decent games to play on it that i like, run out of shooters and flight sims now damnit!

Wow this card looks like it'll make me content with a single GPU setup . But yeah probably not considering I am now chasing after 120FPS in all games as opposed to 60 :rockout:.

Does that mean you have a 120hz monitor then?

Yes it is. :) XFX has two model numbers on release. The reference card, and this one which also features a 1ghz core clock. I'm kinda sure that it is the reference PCB with XFX's cooler on it.

Had to cancel. I paid a lot thinking I'd get it early but I got an email saying they can't be shipped out unil the 9th. Glad I cancelled as I'm finding cards for a hundred bucks less now.

I think AMD is sticking with one DVI connector (and thus one slot for connectors, other slot for cooling vent) as the 2nd DVI connector is restrictive to cooling.

They should ditch all connectors and put Displayport or MiniDisplayport, my GPUs have 4 MiniDP and 1 Dual Link DVI since MiniDP drives up to 2560x1600 there is no need for DVI

Have HDMI/ Display ports across the card and then make a HDMI/Display Port to DVI-I adapter, same for VGA too

Also this is a better idea because of the 6900 series only the 6990 was single slot capable (with waterblock)
