The nv4_disp display Driver has stopped working normally. help please!!

HI, my problem is during gaming an error pop up and before it pop up the screen will freeze for a few second but the sound is still ongoing then the screen turn black and with the error. The error looks like this:

My computer was built and everything was fine untill I installed NFS pro street on it the error comes up so I reformated my PC but it was no help the error only comes up when i play BF2142 or COD4 those high graphic games but warcraft and CSS those games wasnt affected so i was wondering is there anyway to fix this? I am not a comp pro please help me =(

hmm i reinstalled my video driver but now it doesnt freeze like b4 but after a while playing the game turns into pixelized and messed up =\

Your video card might be faulty or its overheating.

ProStreet (and other NFS games) break DirectX. Try updating DirectX but generally, it takes a format to fix it.

sounds like the video card is overheating to me.

Those driver crashes are supposed to happen when your video card errors, in order to save your machine from locking up or giving a BSOD.

how many fans you have is irrelevant. they dont do anything if they arent cooling the right stuff.

Use the Edit button instead of double posting in the future.

48C is warm, but not hot. no problems will arise from that.

Can you tick the "continue refreshing" box, and the "log to file" box, and then go run one of the games which crashes.

When thats done, take a screenshot if you can (mousover the high part of the rad bar, to show the highest temp) and post the log file as well.

Basically, we want to see if it crashes when it reaches a certain temp.

When i get video driver crashes, often the game crashes but i can go back to windows and do other things - such as take a screenshot before rebooting.

The log file will still be there even if your PC hard locks or reboots, which is why we want that too.

someone else with the same issue. if you can find something the same between your systems (same driver, etc) then we may find a cause

Hmm this time I was able to use Task Manager to close the game and get out =O

61C is not overheating. not by a long shot. these cards should be fine at 90C.

normally i'd be looking at your PSU - however since we have another guy with the exact same problem (and very similar hardware) i say you two should be co-ordinating, looking for common software.

Do you both have the latest DirectX, do you use the same antivirus, are you on the same drivers - things like that.

good list - do you have any other programs running? deamon tools, soundcard software, steam, anything at all?

we just need to find something in common, so we can see if thats the cause. Oh, and a format would erase any problems the game caused - so unless you installed the game again, the problem wouldnt come back

hmm I have MSN live running, EPU-6 Engine, TurboV, HP Digital Imaging Director, NVIDIA settings, Samsung Natural Color Pro i think thats about it..
O and b4 when I installed NFS and the problem came up it made a sound like a small scream beep sound (from the PC) on some programs.. but after i reformat its gone

all I did was remove the game and reformat the problem didnt go away cause I am still getting that error but after I follow this http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=52502 my computer doesnt freeze now instead the game freeze like post #17
