Wow, thread necro! But still valid in my book. :)

Anyway, I've actually got one of those cards (320MB version) bought it for £15 off eBay a little while ago and performance is surprisingly good for the time. I've also got its big brothers, the 8800 GTX and 8800 Ultra - two of them!

Mine looks exactly like this one. Is yours something like this?

I have two!! Both fully working too.

8800 GTS
8800 GT

I was using the 8800GT in a game box for Minecraft. Then I gave my daughter a proper gaming rig. The 8800 GTS is actually sitting on a table in my game room. I used it a few weeks ago to test a mobo.

I will post pictures later!

I had an XFX 8800GTS 512 (G92) Alpha Dog Edition that would run at just under 9800GTX+ speeds :toast:

I might be able to find my old GPUz on a pic hosting site somewhere. Great cards!

after that i went with Dual 4870s I think, though I cant quite remember

I never had luck with G92 gpu's, have 2x 8800 GT's & one 9800 GT, 8800's were both DOA and the 9800 had bad memory that couldn't even run @ stock. :(

Edit: Oh yeah and a 9800 GTX which works fine. :p

@ChristineAndRusty Sorry, I meant to tag you in my post above. Does your graphics card look like the XFX one in my picture?

Searched all over and can't find my 8800GT. I know I packed it up at some point but I give up looking for it.

Here is a picture of my 8800GTS 512 though:

Dunno, the 8800GTS 320MB always seemed surprisingly slow to me. Got one in a bag 'o crap like five years ago and already then it was only loud and hot.
I never had luck with G92 gpu's, have 2x 8800 GT's & one 9800 GT, 8800's were both DOA and the 9800 had bad memory that couldn't even run @ stock. :(

Oh yes they were terrible like that. I had a few 8800GTs, all of them required baking. It was the same with the Nvidia laptop GPUs at the time, all of them dying to various degrees. Bad solder, or bad soldering process, for a while there.

The one thing i remember about 8800GT cards the most - insane core temperatures, up to 95 C after gaming!

Does 8400GS count for this club? It's from the same series :D

No it does not. This is about G92: 8800GT, 8800GS, 8800GTS core 112, 9800GTX and 9600GSO.

I'm glad the days of the sticker art on video cards has passed, especially when it had some unknown character on it.

I don't . :(

I also miss the CGI Sapphire chicks and ridiculous packaging art in general. In those times the marketing teams at least did something with these things even if it was cheesy as fuck.
