If you've played ORION: Dino Horde (first person single/coop/multiplayer shooter), the Orion Project is basically a massive expansion of the concepts found in it. It will feature larger worlds with several biomes with multiple factions (rebel, marines, robots, dinos, and pirates/smugglers) vying for control.
Early access is expected to release August 2014 and should include:
-5 player classes
-5 dinosaurs
-dynamic weather
-loot
-factions including Spiral Squads (the pirate/smuggler faction)
-world persistence
-5 companions (robots that provide bonuses that follow you around--think Eyebot in Fallout New Vegas)
-15 weapons/gear
-time of day
-survival hazards
-Spiral Store (purchase in game content--virtually all of it is cosmetic).
-Inventory and crafting
Stretch goals include faction cities ($600k), base building ($800k), player space ships and free flight ($1m), and open galaxy ($3m).
If you haven't played ORION: Dino Horde yet, you can grab it on Steam. If you pledge $30 or more, you'll get a 4-pack of ORION: Dino Horde. Note: Dino Horde reviews are poor because the game had a rough launch. They aren't very reflective of the game as it is now.
