The "Power Consumption" value in GPU-Z, does it scale differently when power limit % is increased?

At stock, it is very simple to understand. If a GPU has a 120W power limit by default, 100% refers to a consumption of 120W.

But what happens when the power limit slider is increase via MSI Afterburner (or other similar apps)?

So example, increase it by 10%. Now, the power limit should be at 132W.

When looking back at GPU-Z, is the 100% value now of 120W or 132W?

So example, increase it by 10%. Now, the power limit should be at 132W.

When looking back at GPU-Z, is the 100% value now of 120W or 132W?

And let's say the sensors show 92. I'd argue that the 92 is 92% of the 120. If it goes over 120, you should see a 101, 102, etc. That's how I've always assumed it would read.

Since it is @W1zzard's program, perhaps he'd be the best to answer this.

as far as I know the percentage is relative to out of the box tdp, so the number will go above 100% when power limit is increased

Also W1zzard, can you change the wording "TDP" to "power limit"? It makes it more accurate.

This is because a GTX 1060 has official TDP/"power limit" of 120W, but many aftermarket cards have a higher power limit.

Like for GTX 960 official is 120W, but my GPU has 128W power limit.

So it would be better if you can read the power limit directly from the GPU, better still if you can display what this power limit is.

If your card has 128 W board power limit then that's what 100% will be, at least that's what I assume the NVIDIA driver is doing

I know, but it would be clearer to say it as the "power limit" than to say it as the TDP.

"%TDP" fits just nicely in the box, I don't see any reason to change that.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Take a card, any card, that has a limit of 100W at 100% slider (to make the math easy). During gaming/benching I peak at 90%/90W (in MSI AB). When I mod the BIOS of that card, say to 150%/150W, my power use, shows less than that 90% in MSI AB.
