Well, since Ampere has a club thread here, I figured why not a club for RDNA2 aka RX 6000 series? I guess there won't be that many of us, but I wanna stand up and counted as a proud owner of a 6000 series card. To get things started, here's mine, a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 which I'd gotten a while back.
Here's a shot of the card, next to the PC VEGA64 Red Devil it'd replaced...

Here's one inside my rig, and yes, RGB does improve OC'ing on GPU and CPU, improves my health, and promote world peace!:peace:

I've also preordered an XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6900 XT and a PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil LE, will keep the one that ships first.

Glad that you started this club.
Let me join you.
I own 6800XT reference card that has been converted to water cooling. :p

Here are some photos of my Radeon 6800XT.
The original cooler was replaced by water block.

I am using EK water block.
EK Water block for RX 6800 and RX 6900 RDNA2 GPUs – EK Webshop (ekwb.com)

20201211_233843.jpg20201212_004848.jpg20201212_014001.jpg

I have been working on finding a nice under volt setting for it.
I now have the Radeon Wattman set at 2600MHz @1015mV with the Power Limit slider at 15%.

No overclock of memory.

I don't have the Hardware to measure GPU power consumption by itself, but I did some approximations based on reading from my Corsair HX1200i power supply and subtracting consumption of other component while observing my system's consumption at idle and at GPU stress test.
I come up with ~294W for default 6800XT setting and with my above mentioned under volt I get ~337W which means around ~43W more power consumption.

Because of water rcooling, the GPU temperature is on average is 43°C (max 46°C ).
The junction hotspot average temperature is on average 63°C (max 67°C).

Here are the results from Time Spy. The SAM is enabled.
My score at default 6800XT setting with SAM enabled is 17402 points.

TimeSpy_2600MHz_1015mV_SAM_ON_powerlimit_15%.JPG

That is about 9,4% higher score than the default settings.:peace:

Stability test with Firestrike Extreme:
Fire_Strike_Ultra_Stress_Test_2600MHz_1015mV_SAM_ON_powerlimit_15%.JPG

Here are the settings that I am using:
Wattman_Settings_2600MHz_1015mV.JPG

The excel graph below show the frequency distribution over the entire Firestrike Extreme Stress test run:

FireStrike_Frequency_Distribution_2600_1015mV.JPG

In the next times I will run some tests with these setting when playing games like Borderland 3 and Cyberpunk.

Dangit, I started this thread and plum forgot about it! As some may be aware, I've replaced my Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 with a Nitro+ RX 6900 XT, I'd have been just as happy with a 6800 XT but sadly, I can't get my mitts on one. And in my neck of the woods, a locally distributed RX 6800 XT is priced not that far off an RX 6900 XT from Amazon USA. I'd paid about 1335USD for my Nitro+ 6900 XT, prices are just nutz here in my neck of the woods. Anyway, on to the pics...

A comparison of the two cards, don't judge from the angle of the pic, both look very similar, same size from what I could see of them....the RX 6800 is in the foreground.

Installed in my rig and raring to go, man, I love gaming with this card! Gears of War 5 Hivebusters runs silky smooth at max setting @ 3840x1080, Serious Sam 4 runs just as smooth.....

I'm no benchmarker nor am I an OC'er, so my benchmark scores are more or less stock, with my CPU doing its auto-OC. I may have undervolted my GPU is one or two test though.

Will post my 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike Extreme scores a bit later....

@lynx29 has a RX6800 I believe? Might not know about the club.

It's depressing how long these shortages have kept up, it should be such an awesome time for high end GFX, but no matter which flavour you want, they're bloody hard to buy, and if you can they're more often massively price inflated :(

QFT! :rockout:

I'd had to 'settle' for the RX 6900 XT simply because the more popular AIB RX 6800 XT's (from XFX, PowerColor, Sapphire) are nowhere to be found. Looking forward to more joining the club!:toast:

yep it is, I am super lucky I got a 5600x and rx 6800 non-xt on launch day... honestly still can't believe it lol --- I think it will be this way (sold out) until late summer --- my OC on my non-xt matches stock xt across the board and is fully stable. so yeah im pretty happy considering I paid MSRP.

@GamerGuy Don't feel like installing sharex at the moment, but my 3d mark scores as of jan 23rd with beta drivers and latest mobo bios are 16,021 graphics score on time spy and 9,043 on cpu time spy. pretty happy with all of it. hoping this will be a 3-5 year, possibly longer build for me as I have a ton of backlog. so yeah. also I use a strong fan curve - so i never break 65 celsius average temp even with OC, hotpsot sometimes hits 79 celsius but its rare and doesnt last long.

It seems that not many owners are interested in sharing their experiences here.:p
There is more activity at Guru3D 6800 owners thread where I am also a member than here.

In any case, I am still tuning my 6800XT for more performance.
With the latest driver 21.2.1, I am getting ~19350 score in TimeSpy with 2650MHz@970mV with 15% powerlimit.
I am using MPT with GPU Power Limit set to 275W. So total amount of power draw GPU core can have is 316W taking into account 15% powerlimit in Wattman.

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, I get GPU frequency in range 2580-2612MHz and power draw for GPU core only is in range 220-250W.

Joining the club with my 'little' thing. It is a hellish of a card worthy the name 'Red Devil' that's for sure.
I'll add more photos later on.

that powercolor card cost a lot LOT more than my non-xt stock model, uses more power, and only gets 500 more points in time spy in graphics score. hmm. I don't get it. i mean i get that i have a mild OC on my card and that is your stock score, but still its a 6900 xt vs a 6800 non-xt... the difference shouldn't be that close.

I'll add mine to this thread since there isn't much going on here.
I bought myself a XFX 6800XT Merc early Jan. 1st AMD since I had a Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 OC.
It has one of the best coolers I've ever had on a gpu,I have a custom fan profile set and I've never seen the card hit 60 degrees. At 50 degrees it is set to only 30% fan speed and we are in the middle of summer here
It reaches over 30 most days and I don't have a air con,my 1080Ti was quite often over 60% fan speed.
Just ran a quick benchmark.

Well i still have some tweaking to do :) Besides my CPU is not the best one though. For games at 4k is quite capable.

@Athlonite NICE! I had a Nitro+ RX 6800 too, awesome card, together with your CPU, ought to last you quite a while. Like mine, I was toying with the idea of going 5950X/5900X but my present 3900X should be good enough for quite a while too.

Does this ole heart of mine good to see more guys joining in!:rockout:

I know that guys but you know, everything in turn :) Next up is new monitor and then we can speak processors. I can squeeze more performance from that 2700x and I will try probably at some point and re-benchmark again.
I had a 6800XT nitro card in my hands boy oh boy it was a doozy of a card. These cards are really amazing. Besides, whenever I look at reviews, all the reviewers say that the reference cooler is just amazing. The AIBs had a hard time to make these cards actually better than a reference ones.

BTW.
Did any of you try undervolting these things and how does that correspond to frequency and power? How far were you able to undervolt?

I'm currently trying to pick up a 6800 to replace my 1080ti, as it would be a nice step up for me and much better for CP 2077 @4k

Just ribbing you, no malice or offense meant.:toast: I love the Red Devil, I have a PC RX VEGA64 Red Devil and would have loved the RX 6900 XT version of it, but the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT sorta fell into my lap (and there were no sign of the Red Devil around). 'Grats on scoring one!

It's not 2 cards but just one. I thought my Sapphire Nitro Vega 64 was a big card. While the Nitro was a 12" long card so is this but the width is insane. I have to see how it performs with my 5600X system but it will have to wait as the card cannot fit in the case that has my 5600x lol.

Well the weekend passed and I am going to share my experience with the 6800XT. As I stated before I had the card installed in my X399 build with a 2920X that boosts to 4.3 GHZ on the best cores. Using that system I got Firestrike scores of 25814 and the TWWH2 battle benchmark gave me 92.4 FPS. I ran a few others and they were all about 10 to 15% faster than my Vega 64.

On Saturday my Antec A400 arrived and it took about 45 minutes to change everything (MSI X570 Pro>>MSI X570 Unify)(RX5700>>6800XT)(Nepton 280<<<A400)(Gigabyte 650B>>XPG Gold 750) . When I ran the same benchmarks with my 5600x @ 4.7 ghz. TWWH2 gave me a 154 FPS average but Firestrike was a ridiculous 35133 almost 10000 points higher.

When it comes to raw Gaming TWWH2 is still a resource hog so I will say the lowest we got was 47 FPS at anypoint in time playing a 180 Turn Campaign. Older Games like Grim Dawn 170 FPS with no deviation. The clock would run anywhere from 1800 to a more consistent 2300 MHZ.

The next thing that I will do is BAR enabled or disabled. It would seem that even that has a discernable improvement but I don't have enough data to state that.

What I can say is that the 6000 series are up to 85% faster than the 5000 series. You will not fully realize that though unless you pair it with a 5000 series chip. As the 5600X is the lowest in the stack I can see that your experience should be at least the same if you have a 5800 and up.

The Caveat is the size of the card. As far as I am concerned a triple slot is way too big.

What resolution did you test the game in? It would have been cool if you tested with that GPU between multiple resolutions on both systems to see where the CPU difference is negligent.
