i totally underestimated the size of the 6900XT merc 319...

but who needs DLSS when you have 2.7 Ghz?

(i have more FPS in games like Black Ops: Cold War at native 1440p than with my 3080 at 450W with DLSS in Quality Mode)

only the artifacts in screen space reflections are still a thing that needs to be fixed.

Both Computers were hooked up to the Gigabyte 32QC at 1440P. That is a 165HZ VA. My data seems to suggest that the CPU does matter as the 2920X did not behave any differently in Firstrike vs past tests (which doesn't seem to care about resolution).

The only complaint I have is that the high memory clock in idle when hooked up to a high refresh monitor. My 6800Xt runs at 1986 MHZ all day long attached to my 32QC.

yep that's true. constantly sitting at it's max clockspeed.

The thing for me though is that even then the cooler keeps the card in the 30s which is much better than the 5000 series.

I guess the 6900XT is pushing more Frames than your monitor can handle and must be outside of the Freesync range. That sounds like a nice problem to have though.

Guys, Have you noticed that CB2077 has the FidelityFX option? I tried using (not extensively) it and it does boost the FPS depending which one you use. Static or Dynamic. Do you guys see any difference in FPS?
With my 6900XT I've noticed more FPS when I've set the Dynamic 80 to 100. 15-20FPS more. Maybe I need to do some more testing but it would seem it works. Not sure about the image quality it was just to check if I would get more FPS.

With my 6900XT I've noticed more FPS when I've set the Dynamic 80 to 100. 15-20FPS more. Maybe I need to do some more testing but it would seem it works. Not sure about the image quality it was just to check if I would get more FPS.

For some reason I cannot even enable Ray Tracing in CP2077.

Hence why I was asking about the game you mentioned. Unless I'm wrong in what you tested.

Anyway, from gaming perspective, I've seen where at 1440p and 4k the 5600x wasn't much further ahead than an older 1650 v3 let's say. I watch myconst review on this stuff.

I'm glad your system is up and running and getting impressive results. I'm rather jealous of your Rx GPU as I tried to buy one but cheapest one was $900 cad (6800 non XT) while $800 after taxes for a 3070.

Totally understood. The rasterization performance of the 6800XT was what sold me. Then Canada Computers was only $30 over MSRP for the MSI card. It was $1149 (CAD) before tax.

RT in CP2077 is only for Nvidia at this point. CDPR mentioned AMD support would be enabled eventually.

Oh, and I should probably add my name to the club. Picked up a Gigabyte branded 6800 reference card a while back.

Yeah I was just adding. I tried it when I saw it in the menu(don't tell work) doing my next story mission and I could not notice really but I guess it felt smoother.

Yup Fidelity FX works quite well if you don't use silly settings like 50%/100% I've have had mine using 90/100% with both my RX5700 and the RX6800 and it seems to work quite well especially in intense fight scenes and as I'm to busy shootin gonks I don't really notice any scene QA reduction but out n about driving round can lead to the odd bit of blurry textures not alot mind just every now and then so it I'll leave it set to what I have and just enjoy playing

You are a very lucky as your 6900XT reaches 2.7GHz. :respect:

As far as I have read in forums there are not many 6900XT that can achieve that.

My 6800XT can stably reach 2580-2612MHz in games with 15% powerlimit.
I can achieve upto 2680MHz with MPT but that is not stable in all games.

I've noticed the same thing. 4k maxed out and I got 60FPS with the fidelity. I need to get some time and maybe take a closer look at this.

It is the same situation for me with my ASUS ROG Strix XG27WQ which is also 165Hz monitor.
If I change monitor refresh rate to 144Hz then memory clock drops otherwise it runs in the same range as you mentioned.

Oh damn. Really? I haven't noticed that. I hope this is something that can be fixed by some sort of a driver tweak.

It is something that has been effecting RDNA since the 5700XT. I don't see it going away anytime soon.

I am not sure if they will/can fix this or not.

I was told by some advanced users at Guru3D that the problem lies that VRAM may not be able to support intermediate frequency steps between max and min.
For these high refresh rates the low frequency state of VRAM may not be enough. An intermediate frequency would be needed and I am not sure if that could be done for GDDR6.
HBM had that possibility with previous generations of AMD GPUs.

Let's hope they find a solution.
It would be good that we keep repoting this bug through Radeon Software. I reported it already in January. I will report it again for 21.2.1.
