Went for a long drive to a bird sanctuary. Saw some migratory birds. (mostly flamingoes and herons and storks etc)

The one in the middle is a baby. So it hasnt got its colours yet (they get the colour from shrimp they eat from the oceans).

Can't recall what this one is called. Kinda like an Ibis but, its beak is spoon shaped.

Weird looking kingfisher. Normally they are not normally brown with a white crest like that.

This is an Egret i guess? Not sure.

Another bird which i dont know the name of.

Neah, not really. This is what I caught with my entry-level D5000, 12 years ago:

Phones do a great job in broad daylight. But they tank horribly when the light goes away. There is physically little they can do, but amplify a weak signal, losing lots of detail in the process.

Agree with you, but this little phone takes a "picture" of the moon, not the usual white disc

They have specific settings in the camera on the 10x lens, when it detects the moon it loads some pre-set settings that work extremely well

People keep trying to fake it out and get it to prove it's BS like when huawei did it, but it genuinely seems legit (and i can take photos of partial/half moons just as well)

Just found out my family of 3 birds was actually a family of 4
This is behind tinted windows which blur the image and warp it, but without the tint they get spooked and leave
Trying to work out where to sneak a small peephole for the camera they wont notice

Last I checked, the "pocket computer" claimed it would take pictures. As such, the comparison is fair. Especially since, as I mentioned, in daylight the phone can come pretty close to the "purposefully made" device.

It definitely uses real images, not the huawei method

I've had everything from birds to helicopters to cloud cover get in the way of shots, and you can tell - and it's also super easy to get the focus off, have the brightness/contrast etc go wrong and get blurry smeary shots - even light cloud cover far up in the atmosphere shows up as moving fuzz as you watch it

The preset is just for contrast/ISO/shutter speed, more or elss

Yes i confirmed it by taking a shot of flamingos. It definitely did take the picture haha.

^ This is a really good point, the limitations of cameras on phones has more to do with optics and how much light is hitting each cell in the sensor and less to do with it being a phone. Small sensors with higher resolutions have very small pixels, so the light gathering capabilities of cell phones tends to be pretty poor compared to a full frame or aps-c camera, but on a bright day it will perform quite well for not being a purpose-made device because it's everything to do with the form factor. You simply can't fit a large sensor and a large lens on a phone, it's just not feasible.

It's why the S22U does so well, the 3x optical lens matches what the human eye sees much better, and the 10x lens lets you do the zoomies

the 1x here was blurry due to operator error, but it was intended as a 1x 3x 10x comparison when i took them
