So they make new mixing faucets that fit the traditional two faucet spacing. US companies (Home Depot - Lowes) would make sure nothing like that existed so you would be forced to buy a faucet and a sink. lol

Those exploding Tea Cakes sound tasty.

yep, this is one thing I hated about England, even some brand new houses still use the one faucet for hot and one for cold. absolutely dumbest thing I ever seen. I try to use the hot to wash my hands and scald my hands... just use a mixer one, that is the one i have used all my life in america. get it to to the temp that you like quickly and boom done wash hands

the UK and USA could learn something from Finland though, in Finland above the kitchen sink they build their storage cabinets for plates, cups etc. they are all drying racks, all the way up just with cabinet doors, and an open bottom. so you skip the step of having to actually put away your dishes from the drying rack.

imagine a new land/country without anything, and we could build up properly. i would do the Finnish dry rack thingy, the american mixer water spouts, and the Japanese/Spanish/Chinese/German level quality of high speed trains, hmm what else...

anyways back on topic... I miss England honestly. I haven't been happy since I been home. I have never been happy in America, everything and everyone feels so fake or consumed by greed here, its bizarre way to live. oh well, it is what it is. im just kicking back and gaming until i can get back to England someday

Who the hell thinks that our design isn't genious? The dishes dry up (and the water remaining of them drops to the sink) and you practically don't even need a separate storage for your kitchenwear if you don't have THAT much of it, as I left most of my kitchenwear there and not move them in an another cabinet.

Not just that. The Finnish use brushes to was the dishes instead of sponges that only collect oils, dirt and bacteria. Also, that little shower thing you find next to the toilet to wash your backside to make wiping easier and less painful should be mandated. No wonder some people call Finns the Japanese of Europe. You won't find a cleaner nation than them.

America feels more consumed by greed than the UK does? Wow, it must be really bad over there. :(

how did it go, was there any turbulence? I have only ever had one smooth flight in my entire life. 9 times out of 10 I get turbulence, and seat belt buckle sign turned on for about 90% of the flight, really annoying. I genuinely hate flying.

I don't mind flying apart from the earache I get sometimes during landing. I only hate queuing and going through security. Taking off your belt and shoes is so pointless.

There was a wee bit of turbulence but we still arrived about 45mins early. For as much turbulence we hit. We got a good tailwind in return.

Not as rough as the flight back to the UK on the last trip. That was very very turbulent.

Turbulence = weather/wind at 35000 feet exposed, it's inevitable, it's safer to spend 15 hours a day in an airplane in the sky than walking the streets or driving in most major cities of the world, I would rather have some unpleasant ear pressure than get run over, mugged or lost :D

I totally agree. Airplanes are piloted by highly skilled, trained experts, while all those other drivers on the roads, well...

I have never agreed with this analogy honestly, planes crash every month, but I am not in control of the plane. My tire pops at 65 mph on the highway, I am in control of that situation still (yes, this did happen to me, I did not panic, and immediately got over on the open side space of the highway). This analogy is also very context dependent, where sure some of your comment makes sense, for say London or Birmingham, but a small village in Shropshire, never had an issue in my life with anyone or any crime there.

For example, this guy snorted cocaine off a strippers boobs before piloting a commercial aircraft:

Also, there were 10,000 close calls in Wash. DC airport before the helicopter crashed into the jet in early January this year. How many fucking close calls do you need before you tell the military they need to do their training somewhere else? That level of incompetency baffles me.

My cousin trains new pilots, and he told me that he is actually really worried about the future of aviation, the students he gets now are just very very different than in years past. I asked him, but yeah they still have to pass your course right, and he said they do pass, but they are just making more mistakes than usual so barely pass. Make of that what you will, lol

So two months of commuting worth of close calls.

I take country roads, I'm honestly surprised more people don't die on the highway, people are nuts driving, it is true. But again, context dependent, I am in control of my route.

I take country roads, I'm honestly surprised more people don't die on the highway, people are nuts driving, it is true. But again, context dependent, I am in control of my route.
Pretty sure the higway is safer than country roads ... at least here :)
Here in my countryside, we've got trees as close as 50 cm of the road.

Firstly to be clear, are you actually saying crash once taken off or are you including mechanical malfunctions at stationary or on the runway? I ask because actual stats suggest, and the link below quotes your own FAA, that 5 planes crash a day but that is all planes, of which commercial planes average out at 0.028%, and in the USA in the last 55 years 76 planes have crashed.

How Often Do Planes Crash? (A Look at Statistics) | Executive Flyers

Per passenger travelling by commercial aircraft which aside from the Pandemic goes up yearly shows flying commercially has never been safer but the caviat is as I said, per passenger ratio, the more passengers that fly the more commercial airplanes fly.

This too is an interesting and short read:

Are planes crashing more often? - BBC News

I do admit however, it is easy to feel there is greater risk, especially with the widespread coverage of some high profile accidents, so I understand your concern.
