I seen that there was a rather bad argument at my local Best buy.... It was over a GTX 1080... Well actually it was over an empty box for a 1080 that they didn't even have in stock... LoL

People like to misbehave , or treat others poorly, when they feel like they can get away with it. One day I was waiting at the doctors office which I had arrived at about 20 minutes before they opened. I had a bad cold or something, so I decided to take my phone out & sit on the sidewalk next to the door and wait until they opened while watching black mirror on netflix. about five minutes before they opened, a woman and a man walked up next to me ,and asked me to move, to which I replied "the doors locked ,no one's going to get in yet",at which point they told me they had run to the store to buy something,but were here first ,and they were going in before me.

This is the point where I stood up (because I'm anticipating the man is going to try to exert his will). It's the exact point when their courage dwindled very quickly ,as they realized I was a foot and a half taller than both of them ,and easily 150 pounds heavier than them as well. Suddenly they were much more polite ,and decided to go have a cigarette before the doctors opened . Had they just asked me (politely),I probably would've let them in before me ,because it doesn't matter, I mean it's another few minutes ,but if people think they can get away with something at their own benefit ,they'll try it. 9/10 times.

That's one of the main reasons I don't go to Black Friday ,it brings the worst out in people .

Luckily, across the board ,even RAM (ever so slightly ), components have been dropping in price over the past couple months. Some items faster than others, but its happening. I noticed while perusing possible build options that would fit into my budget since the end of January. The deceptive part is they keep coming down, then going back up, then dropping a little, then back up, like a yo-yo. I saw the 1070ti for around $680 a couple weeks back, & the Rx 580 for under $500 around the same time. Hell, I even got my 8600k for $230 on amazon, and even the Extreme 4 Z370 dropped (which prompted me to order it ) I just wish RAM would settle to a price that was SUB $8/Gb. I could live with that. GPU prices seem like they wanna level out to a more realistic price, but availability is hindering the process, but sooner or later, Capitalism will do its magic, hopefully the former comes fast.

If anyone is in the market for parts, and Must purchase during this tumultuous time in the market , id recommend getting an App or addon like Honey, or a similar "deal finding" helper. More than once, the notifications have helpedwme out with the constant Yo-yo of prices....and If a item you need is too pricey, remember, just wait a day, and it will likely be cheaper.

noone should buy a GPU until the prices settle back to reasonably close to their respective MSRP's (unless an emergency, or forced to by NEED) dont be a sucker and buy this week, just to see that they dropped another $80 by next week. based on prices ive been seeing across several sites, cost, and stock are going back to normal, its a buyers market finally, make the sellers hold the GPU until it has devalued entirely, then You buy it, so they absorb the losses, and you dont. If you mean the guy with the water block ones, i saw that, he dropped them to $40 cheaper than the brand new one on newegg , but his are the full size ver, not the small boy ver, but im sure they perf about the same .his have the blocks too so for some that would be a good thing.

As I mentioned ,it's a bad time to purchase a video card, hell even ram isnt a smart thing to buy now. The better deals will go to those who wait the longest

Here I am preaching not to buy and I'm currently going through the process of ordering parts. But I've been waiting for months and have intentionally purchased certain items at certain times and aside from the ram I'm fully confident I didn't pay anything more than I would've paid without mining's affect on the market. Of course I'm not buying a GPU either so that's one huge benefit

This is a really interesting combo by Newegg on eBay. Gigabyte Vega 64 non ref + GTX 1060 6GB Aorus for $1199.

The 1060 Aorus is a really well made card, I've got a 1070 Ti Aorus and the cooler is second to none, memory overclocks near 25%. They've been selling on eBay for near/over $400, putting the Vega around $800-ish

I almost pulled the trigger but don't feel like going through the hassle of selling the GTX 1060

The ROG vega64 is $1000 iirc on newegg, or newegg business. Its a 3 fan model iirc. but with a (non mining) MSRP of around $500+ (from what i saw searching MSRP) it doesnt seem like a very good deal.. im SO glad i have no issues waiting for these laughable prices to drop.
