The ROG vega64 is $1000 iirc on newegg, or newegg business. Its a 3 fan model iirc.

It uses the same cooling technology as the Aorus, which is top end. They can't call it an Aorus (that's an NVidia legal thing ). I don't know the MSRP, but I'm guessing it's around $580, which is about the premium (~$100) for the Aorus cards over reference.

current best prices on PNY 1080ti call your local Staples store to see if they have it in stock... They have them for $729 and 1080's for $649...

Well... I went and bought the pair! I will list my Aorus 1070 Ti tonight, and then the 1060 6GB when it arrives Friday. That'll put about $1k back in my account.

Assuming the Vega 64 is all good, I'm keeping her. I miss my Free-sync badly!

The good news- availability of nearly all models is way up!

The bad news- prices are still running about 20-25% higher than before the last shortage (it is an improvement though)

Maybe, but I think it's mostly due to the abysmal mining profits as of late. There's probably not many new players or even current players looking to gobble up more cards right now. The whole crypto market is taking a beating right now, and if I was really seriously in it, I'd be awfully apprehensive about spending on more hardware right now.

That's 100% correct. the mining difficulty trend over the past 4 months or so shows why things are getting better for enthusiasts and gamers. Values are also sloping down, with obvious spikes and drops, but downward trend none the less. certain coins will of course have a good period, while others flop & Vice Versa, but the "honeymoon" is over, and the romance is dying, along with the dreams of early retirement on the backs of GPU's. lets just hope minings effect on the rest of us dies out, and this thread will have served its purpose

Idk, odds are there will be nothing wrong with used. If you keep that option open you’ll be pleasantly surprised. You just have to be careful. If you buy off TPU then odds are even higher it will be in great condition.

I went from a new set of GTX 660's to a USED 770, which I then sold for a used 780ti. All perfectly fine cards, I then sold the 780ti for 220 EUR to discount off the 1080.

Its a really good way to trade up over the years for a minor investment and stay current doing it all the way.

I have bought and sold several video cards, PSUs, CPUs, motherboards, RAM sets, cases, and various drives (HHD and SSD) in TPU's B/S/T forum. I have never had an issues with any hardware I have gotten, and I have never gotten a complaint about anything I have sold. You just got to make sure you check out seller reviews of people before buying from them. And you always get a better price than buying brand new.

The second 290x I purchased was used, got it after the first GPU/mining bubble, first one was brand new. Never could tell the difference between the two.

That said, I do often hear about HBM being sensitive from taking a beating

Gigabyte Vega 64 for $699 after $100 rebate GC. I have this same card and got the core stable at 1744. I could only get the memory up to 1040, but core never went over 80c (fans at full tilt) Way better cooling than stock.
