hey guys i was thinking when should i replace the thermal compound on my cpu my comp has been around for six months ... any help?

im not that good with computers so give me some ideas:)

even if in some cases the "don't fix it if ain't broke " does work,it is better if you have a good compound it will give you a little boost i thing there is a post that it was reviewing some compounds try to find it

With my old Athlon XP, I used to change the compound every 5-6 months. Not that I needed to, but because I had a whole tube of AS3 which I just wanted to use up.

I'd say check your CPU temp periodically. When, and if, the temps begin to rise, then look to replace the compound.
