It looks like you have pads on things that don't need them.

Did you apply the pads like this?

I don't believe so. On the instructions the row that has the hexagon shaped thingies I'm supposed to put 1mm pads on. I'm trying 0.5mm right now just in case. I'm not sure which ones are the vrm

After much research online though I have read on overclock.net in the aorus xtreme edition 1080 ti owners club thread that apparently gigabyte have two different pcbs for the same card. The newer version has raised vrm apparently...

That might explain why me and 3 other guys have run into the same issue on the same card with the same block.

Worst case scenario I won't put any pads on those and thermal paste on the other ones that aren't touching... The other ones are already on 1mm except the high one of course as per the instructions

Edit *** omg you're right. I checked on their website and their instructions are different than the instructions that came with the block holy crap lol

Take the block off, and take a picture of the PCB please. One of us will circle what you need the pads on.

NM, did it for you. Looks to me like the pads you have on one of those sections is too thick. Use the thinner pads.

I ended up not putting pads on the fourth row as indicated in the more recent instruction manual on eks website

I put some paste instead on there. I also put some paste where the pads were almost touching the block to give it the reach it needed. Now everything seems to touch
