Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler

Hello. I was wondering if it's possible to have 2 fans blowing air into the heatsink with this cooler? I am thinking about buying but I just want to know so I can have 2 fans blowing in air. Or if not, would I need one intake, and the other taking out the hot air? I'd like the maximum cooling out of the heatsink.

Push me pull you arrangement like above is best and is supposed to make a big difference in temps ! Big-assed cooler as well !!

Will it drop temperatures on my Q6600? My idle temps now are: 45, 46, 39 40.

Ya , my temperatures really dropped going from an arctic freezer. like 20-30 degrees.

You must have a B-3 stepping chip. That Zalman 9700 that you are using should cool it pretty good! The Thermalright will be better but not by that much. Ever considered watercooling?

on this cooler second fan will make 2C difference and that is it, so don't bother
if u really want much cooler temps, then go for water

a True will kill a 9700 by atleast 8 degrees or more with a quad. The more voltage the farther it will pull away, especially a B3 Quad. The reason a second fan doesn't help is because this heatsinks heatpipes are so efficient keeping it quiet and cool.

i tend to agree with the others, Zalman 9700 is a good cooler in its own right, TRUE will help you, you'll be able to squeeze a couple of hundred more Mhz out of your quad but that's about it. Seriously, you should consider going with water. I'm about to take the first step into the world of water cooling myself and even though i was a bit nervous about doing it i'm confident that everything will be fine. So at least consider it.

I don't see the point in water cooling to be honest because Nehalem is due out soon and I'll be upgrading to that in February-March time.
