I have been thinking about upgrading before the year is out so I make sure I am next gen gaming proof. Here is my current setup:

case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811103010

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130228

Video Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130432

Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817189006

Proccessor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227316

I am not friendly to overclocking, due to the fact I want this system to last for a long long time. Here is the system in a nutshell so you don't have to look up every link.

Case: Xclio ATX, Top mounted PSU,

Motherboard: 6 audio channel intergrated, DDR3 1066 standard, 4x240pin DDR3 slots, 16GB max, 1 PCI-E 16, 2 PCI Express x1, 3 PCI Slots, 6 SATA 3.0GB/s, 24 pin

CPU: AMD 3.2Ghz Quad Core AM3 125W

PSU: Xclio 550w SLI ready

HDD: 640GB 7200RPM

RAM: DDR3 1600 4GB(2x2) Dual Channel

Is there any suggestions? I have a 120mm Case fan, Xigmatek Dark Knight CPU cooler, on the way to add.

Case looks allright, I am not too sure about the Mobo being a 770 low-mid board, I would go for 5770 graphics card instead of the 9800gtx+ mainly because you want a long lasting system and 9800GTX is very old. Get a better psu such as Corsair, Antec truepower and so on instead of that one. X4 955BE is good, but dont list it as a 3.2GHz because everyone can overclock to 3.2Ghz, using anywhere from X4 810 to X4 955. I dont think the AMD board supports 1600 rams, you need to oc that.

If you have a big monitor that uses 1920x1200 or above, try to look for a better video card so it's next gen gaming proof. A much better one (at least a 4890, 5770, or a GTX 275)! :D

-The processor is not overclocked. That is the stock speed it came at, follow the link.
-I am pretty sure the 9800GTX+ isn't that old, since it runs MW2(new-gen game) at around 50fps(That is in the middle of explosions and crap) on max settings full screen in 1920x1080HD.
-The board does in fact "1600(OC)" on the specs.

Those, after I get my cooling upgrade, will be on my list. Mainly because you can sell the old part to get some money back for the new one.

If you have a big monitor that uses 1920x1200 or above, try to look for a better video card so it's next gen gaming proof. A much better one (at least a 4890, 5770, or a GTX 275)!

My 9800GTX+ is runing 1920x1080HD fine.

And this is for the general:(fps, all on max settings)
Bioshock: 175
Dead Space: Maintains max fps(30) in all situations
L4D2: 60(the limiter stops from getting higher, also that is in the middle of about 120 zombies with a sword)
L4D: 60(same reason as L4D2)
CoD MW2 MP: 50 min
CoD MW2 SP: ~50, midst extreme combat

Would upgrading to like the GTX 275 do much to those numbers?

-Also, I am aware the PSU is a bit small, but it was a combo so I could save 30 bucks.

Not saying your build is bad, but I would suggest laying out a budget of what you plan/can afford to spend, and let the members here search the interwebs for a possible better bang for the buck deal. There are quite a few that love to do just that. May want to give it a shot;)

In that case, I will say i don't plan to do all this at once. In little steps over several months, maybe even a year, depends on the next set of games.

If I was going to upgrade then I would say about 250 would be max, for PSU & Vid Card. Would prefer HDMI output.

Also does anyone know what you could sell a 9800GTX+ and 550W PSU for?

the PSU depends alot on the brand( that xclio retails on google shopping for like $80 new), and I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 for a used 9800GTX+.

So $160 would be a good estimate/?
