Today, Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic shared another update on the development of Titan Quest II, revealing both community insights from the recent playtest and a revised Early Access timeline.

Originally slated for a Winter 2024/2025 release, Titan Quest II will now launch in Early Access in Summer 2025. The decision comes in response to a crowded ARPG release window and a desire to give the game the spotlight it deserves.

The team at Grimlore expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming response to their recent demo playtest. With thousands of players participating, streaming, and filling out surveys, over 92% rated their experience as positive or very positive. Particularly encouraging was the feedback from long-time Titan Quest fans, who praised the game for capturing the spirit of the original while pushing forward with modernized systems.

Players explored the game's introductory chapter, choosing from dual Masteries and facing off against the first boss, Appollonia the Terrible - a fight that turned out to be a fan favorite. Visuals and audio received standout marks, with average scores of 5.25/6 and 5.16/6 respectively, while exploration and environmental storytelling were frequently highlighted as memorable features.

That said, the team acknowledges areas that need refinement. Combat fluidity, ability aiming, and balance are already being addressed, and performance optimizations will continue. New improvements, including customizable control schemes and enhanced UI indicators, are already underway based on community suggestions.

Grimlore Games reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a true successor to Titan Quest, one that respects its legacy while evolving for a new generation of players. The developers are actively implementing feedback and fine-tuning features ahead of Early Access.

really wish this was not a early access title. bleh

I tried it when it was available and left with very sour taste, not just because it was on the unreal engine either it's nothing like the original and all about how well it looks and not if it will run well.

I would of been happier if they used the engine from the 1st one.

@Space Lynx yes don't help any thing either, who complains the most will win haha, it's like they have a shallow idea for some thing and want everyone else make the game.

I just want them to make the game they visioned, good sign that they have no idea so don't expect any thing good.

I was invited to the playtest as well, but was unable to find the time to join. I hope you left them that feedback during the playtest? They can't fix what they overlook.

I will never forget fighting the Manticore in the cave, in the original game. Did not care for the steam powered Robot thing as much. I will probably buy this, but I doubt it will equal the old one.
Played a bunch of Grim Dawn, and spent gobs of time on the original Dungeon Siege. Neverwinter Nights is the only other game that I spent serious time on. I do Skyrim a bit.

Yeah but most of the issue's are due to the unreal engine and i am sure they don't want to do any thing about that.
