As most everyone who comes onto this site regularly, AMD does not have official support for next Gen Threadripper on their updated Road map. There was talk yesterday at E3 that AMD are going to release next gen chips for Threadripper but with the die shrink and the new 3950X it makes the current gen of TR4 CPUs not obsolete but much less appealing. What is appealing though is a 32 core Threadripper chip that has all of it's dies connected to the memory controller. My only fear is that you may not have the option of dropping it into existing TR4 baords. In fact TR4 boards are very compelling right now with some of the drastic price reductions we have seen you can get boards in the $320-$350 range. Even the Gigabyte Designare EX is just north of $500 now. I remember that being the most expensive consumer board you could buy period.
If the X570 boards are going to be more expensive than their X470 counterparts what will TR 4 boards cost?
