Throttle Stop undervolting didn't change anything.

First to put some details to the matter, i just bought myself a MSI GP68 HX and it's really great but did some tests with it and noticed that my cpu was idling at about 50 to 60 degrees, for the games it sees about 70 to 90.

Then I found out about undervolting which tried to do it with ThrottleStop but even if i can change the values, nothing seems to change. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but any help is appreciated.

PS: I did unlocked the CPU value lock from the BIOS.

The top middle of the FIVR window says that Undervolt Protection is enabled. Have a look in the bios and disable that.

I checked again and found a option as "Undervolt Protection" disabled it, tried again but sadly, still the same result.

Your FIVR screenshot shows that Undervolt Protection is enabled. The BIOS option to disable this is not working correctly. You will have to contact MSI to find out why. Are you using the latest BIOS version for your laptop? Here is how my MSI laptop looks.

You are not the only person with this problem. This BIOS option is broken on several different laptops. The ability to toggle Undervolt Protection on or off works correctly on my MSI Vector 17. Tell MSI to smarten up and fix this bug.

Well thats unfortunate i guess, after roaming around the BIOS i found how to disable the Protection which didn’t change anything sadly.

After that i tried to make the Undervolt the BIOS which for some reason i have no idea about, it didn’t change except the Voltage information on ThrottleStop which normally just says “Default” as it seems n my screenshot, now after i tried the BIOS way, they became 0.394 or 0.396 i’m not sure because i don’t have access to my pc at the moment.

I mean my idle is about 45 to 56 degrees and while playing games “Lately NFS Unbound with Unite Mod” it’s mostly stays at around 73 to 78 (GPU is the same degrees also) and it’s with maximum graphics which is fine by me.

This is my first “High End” PC and i want to make the most of it which i think it can last about 5 years i guess. So with this in mind thanks for all the help, maybe some contact with MSI might work.
