To all Those 'Gurus' Out there, any tips for me first OC GFX caRD?

RADEON R9550 128MB DDR (OC) Edition, Gecube.

Overclocked with Artifacts = 450++ core / 250 mem.
Current Over Clocked Settings = 425.25 core / 225 mem

3D details = 50 - 63fps (constantly changing and jumping around), 57AVG (this stays constant after waiting for about 5mins). I don't know what they stand for plz advice guys?

Driver Details, = 6.14.0010.6631 (latest)
Tool use = ATITool ver. 0.25 Beta 15 (latest) , Card has also been unlocked with it.
Cooling system = Own stock graphic card fan. ( Am i able to increase the fan speeD? )

I need some pointers with my currect work and i have some questions cause this is my first time doing OC.. A total newbie in this. So any pointers and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Well guys, These is what i've manage to pull thru so far, I'm not really sure if what i've done is gre8, but i've yet to test it during gameplay.


My Qs are ,

Do i need to let ATITool run when ever i'm about to play a 3d game or can i just uninstall it once i'm done OCing my card?

Are these the norm OC settings for this particular card or Can it go higher?

And am i able to increase my current stock graphic card fan speed? Is it advisable to do so?

The artefacts are done because your memory can't handle the speed and is corrupting data. YOu can keep your GPU overclocked to the max. The worst that could happen is getting a blank screen or hang.

mine one is gecube 9550GT edition.
i able to clock for daily use at 470 for GPU and 235.xx(equal to 470Mhz) for RAM.
i am still at stock cooling for gpu,and some self cut ram sink on the RAM.
these cards are old.some games are just able to run at mid-low detail....crap

Why do my core & mem in atitool gets back to default whenever i restart my cpu or swith it on/off ?

I've already unlocked the graphic carD...

u cannot increase ur fan speed,it is hardware control.cant be control through software.

actually,we just use ati tool or atitray tool to find max on the gpu and memory.
after the max had been find,simply reduce 10-15mhz from the max:
max-(10--->15Mhz)=speed that we think stable on daily use.

each card may perform different speed and all this may depends on ur luck that the card u pick.

u need to let the atitool to run during on gaming after u set the oc speed on the card.

if u dont want to use atitool during gaming,there is only one way to go.....
get the max speed,downlaod the ati bios editor,
edit the speed to the oc clock.
flash the bios(the risk is on your own,a bad flash may result no display)
