To Raid or Not to Raid? 500gb x 2

ok so ive taken my secondary pc and put in in an HTPC case, Thermaltake Tenor, to hookup to my movie theater. I will be taking all of our DVD's and decrypting them to the 2 Seagate 7200.10 500 gb hard drives. Should i put all the movies on a Raid 0 array, or install the 2 hard drives seperately. ive also gotten new RAM, Gskill 2gb ddr400 2.5-3-3-6 for it. what do you guys recommend i do? THX for replies!

if all it is for is movies and stuff like that, i think either will do. personally i would raid, that way you don't deal with 2 partitions.

raid 0 will give you double the rate of hdd failure so be careful there..

I have two 500Gigs in Raid-0. It is fast, and so far no crashes....knock on wood.

That much data In a Raid 0 setup Is asking for trouble.....I run Raid 0 with 2 36gig Raptors for my main OS drive and love it....I ghost backup every 2weeks and this way has proven to be the best for me....but where the hell would you ghost 500x2gbs worth of data.

Bottom line....Raid 0 Is for extreme performance.....not watching movies.
