Welcome to TPU, If Your ARE indeed looking for advice, I would advise You to take some time to fill in Your System spec's, and Actually WAIT around for an answer. Otherwise it looks a BIT *fishy*. I don't see what one would have to gain by posting Multiple thread's about simple issue's, and advice, and then abandon them, but If you are for real, PLEASE don't feel discouraged, just take the time to show You care, and I'm certain You'll find either the answer Your looking for, or ATLEAST the help Your Asking for. I KNOW that I would be discouraged if I was trying to post as a new member, and no-one was replying , because 50 other new "member's" were flooding the Forum with bogus thread's.(And I Know that it's discouraging to actually answer a question to feel like My time was wasted)

1-fill in System spec's
2-Watch the thread for Replies
3-respond when your ARE asked a question
4-have a nice day.

The words in capitals may be perceived as a bit rude or smug, but otherwise a good post.

Nice try man, and I tried doing the same around 7 years ago iirc. You're better off just asking each new member nicely to fill out system specs and advising them where to go to do so. Many people come here, ask a question and never come back...just the way it goes. Making a thread like this, is a waste...no offense. It will not be stickied, it will not be read by enough to make a difference, and there will be many that join that will never have an idea that it was ever created. Trust me I understand your concerns and with the recent onslaught of one post wonders and possible spammers I agree with your points made. I have even spoke with W1z about having an initial rules agreement or something, but it was decided as too much to go through to join a forum just to ask for help and really it's up to us to keep this community nice, peaceful and helpful. We all must do our part with every thread we get involved in to keep it quality and up to TPU standards. If that means I must repeat 1,000s of times to people how to fill out system specs and the values of it, so be it. If someone doesn't come back to a thread after I post some help...oh well...their loss or maybe they read it and it did in-fact help them but they never posted a response...then good at least it helped them.

It's up to us on when helping not to let this small and infinitely repetitive issues get under our skin. This place is about helping each other after all, and if people seek that then I am more than ready to help where I can and know many of you guys are too. It's a good post, but it's not going to get you what you seek out of it jboyd... Honestly you're best off helping each person with similar responses to what you listed and watch as the ones that stick around do the same to the new folks seeking assistance that they're helping...that's when you know it's worth taking the extra few seconds to type out some helpful albeit repetitive (to you, me and other regular members) is worth it.

I hope you take no offense from this post, I just want you to know this has been a very long in the tooth issue that isn't going to be solved with one thread that will be buried by 100 others the day it was made. It's up to each one of us to step up and keep after these issues and be polite about them with new members and hope they do the same to people that join after them. That's how it works, and it does work well...it used to annoy me...then I realized it's not worth getting annoyed about and I was a new member that was told to fill out my system specs at one point...why not help others with the same thing?

I think your approach to the matter is indeed the best Kursah. You convinced me off the fact we just have to swallow.
