Since I never pre-orederd from STEAM before, I have one question : when does the pre-loading usually start? On the release date? or a couple of days before? or right after I get my game?

On release date usually. Sometimes a few hours before the official release date. It sits in your Game library till release date when you can install it.

PCWorld Review

PROS
Beautiful animations are some of the best on current-gen consoles.
The story is top-notch and doesn't drag, despite the 12-15 hour runtime.

CONS
Multiplayer is unnecessary and doesn't fit with the rest of the game.
It can be difficult to figure out what to do next at times.

12 hours is short for TR, and MP is unnecessary indeed.

Classic TR games always had painful deaths and it's a right decision to make it that way. 1) It looks more realistic and mature (unlike those idiotic ragdoll fx in Underworld/Legend with no blood at all) 2) It encourages player to play more carefully 3) And there's a lot of people who like to kill Lara and laugh at her death animations just for kicks like in good olden days. Angel of Darkness had the best Lara's death animations.

It was always pretty harsh when you feel from a very high height and you could hear her spine and bones break on impact. Ouch. I still remember numerous times i fell of Thames Warf in London...

Just played a good hour and a half. Pretty awesome game.

40FPS with my 680 and everything maxed with TressFX on. I think there will be some driver optimizations released soon.

-surprised the new GeForce beta drives don't have performance improvements for TR.

I have about 5 or 6 hours into the game. Great game so far! Lara is now a bit more bad ass; getting the feel for killing. This game gets pretty damn tense at times. I just found my second tomb. I had to stop playing so I could go to work. grrrrrr.
