Gosh ... I admit that some challenges are ridiculously "hard" (last flag hanging on a crane or a mine which is underwater and you can't even see it). What an eyeroller

We have just made public a new version of the PC version of Tomb Raider, build 1.0.718.4. This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.

This update addresses a variety of issues that we either found out about shortly before release or immediately after.

Fixes include:

- Addressed some stability and startup issues on machines that have both Intel and NVIDIA graphics hardware.
- Fix for players being unable to progress related to the boat in the beach area.
- Some fixes for crashes on startup and when selecting Options.
- Some small improvements to TressFX hair rendering.
- Fixes for various graphics glitches, including certain effects not being visible in fullscreen mode.
- Fixed a problem that caused some users to not be able to use exclusive fullscreen.
- Added support for separate mouse/gamepad inversion for aiming, as well as support for x-axis inversion.
- Fixes related to the benchmark scene and benchmark mode.
- Various other small fixes.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone. If you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build716.5, that can be used to switch back to the previous version. Please note however that you can only play multiplayer with people that share your version.

We expect further patches to follow fairly soon, addressing further issues we see being brought up by players, and are actively monitoring these and other forums looking for issues.

My performance went up a little bit n the benchmark. Average didn't change much, but minimum did. up to about 33fps, rather then numbers in the teens. Noticed also the hair doesn't seem the float on her shoulders as much.

Best news I've heard yet regarding this game. I'm sure the hair being less floaty has some to do with the increased performance, but for me what affects the min FPS the most is tesselation.

Holy Crap! After the patch my min FPS in the benchmark went from 2 to 46!

Yup the MIN FPS doubled for me.

She seams to have less hair now behind the ears.

I'm barely pass 50%. Spent way too much time looking for the items. Especially in the Mountain Valley.
My Lara Croft should be ripped after all that rope zipping and rock climbing.

I have one question and I hope you guys can help me:

Most of the time I game on my main rig, but sometimes I want to continue a game on my den or bedroom, thing is, TR uses cloud saved games, and when I try to game in another computer, Steam always has problems trying to download the latest progress.

Skyrim had the same issue, so I always used a USB stick to save my latest game files after a session, but I haven't been able to find any folder that contains the saved games for TR, I've looked in my documents, saved games, and the actual game folder to no avail.

Does anyone know how I can keep my progress from one PC to another? Steam is doing a very poor job updating the progress to the cloud so far.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

To me The Palace was the best zone so far. It was like a mini die-hard movie.

The way its put togethere is nice. Fragile unsure girl and it guides you through her journey, hardening her to be a harden bad a** with nice hair.

I completed the game yesterday. Liked the gameplay, story is good and graphics is good. Graphics could have been better. Crysis 3 or ArmA III alpha looks much more realistic.

To tell the truth, I didn't get much of the Dx11 feeling while playing this game. The games which looked best are undoubtedly Crysis 2, Crysis 3, Battlefield 3, MOH Warfighter(despite of the shitty gameplay). Even FarCry 3 was good. Yeah in Tomb Raider, the TressFX technology for Lara's hair is awesome. But for the texture and lightning part, it could have been better especially the lightning.

Is it just me, or are those bloody hexagons showing up onscreen everytime you kill an animal or take damage new since the patch? I don't like them at all, they look horrible and clutter the screen. I really don't get why they'd have that effect plus blood drips on the edge of the screen. They should have just gone with the one they first use for when her side gets speared with rebar.

This game is awesome. When I sat down yesterday morning I loaded the game with just 2% completed. By the end of the day (with many breaks) I just hit 60%. What a roller-coaster of a ride!!!

I haven't patched the game and don't plan to. The game runs and looks great and it's not crashed once. I know it's way to early yet but this is my 1st quarter game of the year. Just so much fun!

Well there you go. You make a statement like the above with no reason mentioned for not wanting to, and then ask why patch it, when in fact the release notes and comments already given should make the reasons obvious. Cynical about patches much?

To reiterate, besides the release notes in post #153, it raises min FPS quite a bit, and the missing QTE prompts early in the game, along with lots of other minor issues, have been fixed.

Reason I said no reason not to on AMD is I know of no reports of the patch not fixing anything or making things worse as per some of the comments from Nvidia users, but some have said the patch now works even for them after a beta driver release.

I loved all of the games up until the last two.
