It is currently staying at around 42 degrees in idle and goes as hot as 60 while playing. I'm using a stock cooler and another 120mm fan, which came with the Cougar mx200, mounted on the side panel which, obviously, is pushing the air outside the case.

I start to think it's the CPU's temperature the reason why playerunknown's battlegrounds stutters while playing for like 15-20 minutes. It is running VERY SMOOTH at 50 fps for the first 15-20 minutes, i even played with Anti aliasing on ultra and textures on high today and it still managed to move extremely smooth, but by the end of the game it's starting to feel miserable, it stutters and runs at 30 fps, which shouldn't feel bad but it does.

I know this is an old CPU and i know that game is poorly optimized but it'll take some time until i'll be able to upgrade to g4560 or an i3 4130 and i still want to know if there is something i can do about it for now.

note: All the cpu energy saving features are OFF in bios.

those temps are okay for that chip(especially under stock Cooling). my old G3258 got warm under air cooling. i got stuttering too in GTAV with it, its the Limit of 2 core CPU gaming sadly..

if stuttering gets bad, maybe try OC'ing it a bit...i got mine up to 4,8Ghz and it helped a lot. but i was under a Serious 280mm H2O cooler

If I were you I would run a performance monitor like afterburner or something that can show ram usage and CPU usage etc. and that way you can see what's occurring during the stutters while gaming

I might try to overclock it a bit, even though i'm really not familiar to overclocking. I guess pushing it 300-400 MHz won't do much harm unless i'm changing voltages, or so i heard. Anyway, when should i start to worry about temperatures, like how hot is too hot ?

2gb budget gpu.... 2 core cpu.... stuttering makes sense to me. What settings are you playing that game at? Try lowering them?

Temps are good to 90c+ its not a cpu temp issue.

Above 70 is hot IMO, but it still won't damage the CPU in anyway though at these temps.

1920x1080 Everything at very low, even some performance tweaks - launch options and other modifications to game configs that should improve performance. I believe it runs on DX 10 too.

About overclokcing, i have an asrock h81m-dgs r2.0 and i been browsing through bios and couldn't find any option to modify cpu's frequency. There is a thing called "Primary plane current limit" which is set to auto and has no other options, you can put some number in there which reffers to amperes i guess. Anyway, what should i put in there ? Can i overclock this cpu on this motherboard?
EDIT: Googled a bit and it seems i have to do a bios firmware update.
EDIT2: Just checked it and it seems i run the latest bios version, still my "Overclocking" panel in bios is different to what i've seen on some youtube video.
EDIT3: It seems there was a newer version of bios despite not being listed on motherboard's website, there is an option in bios to find bios versions through internet and upgrade automatically. I'm running 1.70 bios version but the "OC Tweaker" Panel in bios hasn't changed much, just more "power limit" things that are set to auto and have no thresholds so i have no idea what to put in there. Anyway, there still is not option to chance CPU frequency.

forget about to overclock, you must upgrade cooling and power supply,
cooling is pretty important, your temps right now are decent enough, but could be better, what cooler do you have?

About PSU, sirtec 500W ? its at least 80 bronze certified? when Overclocking its at the corner, you must beware power and cooling, cuz temps will raise and consumption may be tweaked!

Can i overclock this cpu on this motherboard?
Z series are the best for Overclock, H81 its not a chipset i know could OC, not 100% sure,

your opinion is overly conservative... like, by a lot.

Not sure you can overclock on that H series board. You are likely out of luck.

But as jboyd says, get something running to check CPU use and ram use. Then use something like MSI Afterburner and monitor the vram use on the card. If you are breaking 2GB, which is entirely possible at 1080p in many many titles, that can be the cause of the stuttering.

guess pushing it 300-400 MHz won't do much harm

Nor will it do too much to benefit( I would guess a gigahertz or more shouldn't be an issue for that chip). You should be able to add 500Mhz while running a monitor to keep an eye on temp, iirc i didnt touch voltage until over a Ghz OC.iirc try & stay under 1.4v

Try dropping graphic settings as mentioned too

Memory usage says 1660 at most (out of 8192 for some reason, i don't know why, must be some bug cause there's no way that's the physical memory, the game alone uses atleast 4gb of RAM.)

Doesn't seem to be a problem here. I can't understand why i can't overclock on this motherboard, there is some video on youtube in which a guy overclocks a g3258 using a h81m-hds. I have a h81m-dgs and there are no options to overclock cpu.

EDIT : There is definetely some problem with the max values, Upper threshold at RAM is 16384 while i only have 8gb of ram.

If that screenshot you posted is during your game usage it's not even using 3 GB so that is Not the issue.

I don't understand what your edit is in reference to though

It may just be that your motherboard doesn't offer overclock support sometimes that is the case. That's why even if I don't buy an unlocked processor I still buy an enthusiast grade motherboard because you never know if down the road you're going to get a higher and CPU and you could use those options ... even the H models offer some limited overclock support but they are generally H 97 I can't say about the H 81s

Yeah if you're looking at windows page file that has nothing to do with anything(regarding this issue) don't worry about that just leave it be. Don't even get that situation in your head because altering it won't make any difference

you'll need the older Bios version to Overclock, from before Intel got grumpy and made asrock & others update them to not allow it..

probably 1.91 & older...before the updates rolled out. just be sure it matches your EXACT motherboard model type no "2.0" or anything

Sorry, but that's a locked Pentium G3430 unlike the overclockable G3258. You could bump the base clock up to 107 MHz with a Z97 motherboard but that's all your getting.

Maximum overclock achieved on HWbot shows 3430.34 MHz over the default 3300 MHz.

Alright i am giving up on this processor. About the edit reference for you all who ve been asking. There is the memory usage which reffers to gpu memory usage and it has an upper threshold of 8192MB while my gtx 750 ti has 2gb of vram, then there is the RAM with a 16gb threshold then pagefile with the same 16gb. I know pagefile should be about double the amount of ram but i don't understand the other thresholds.

Anyway, forget it. Should i consider buying a g3258 second hand until i will be able to save for something better? Will it make a difference for now? I am asking cause i believe that s pretty cheap second hand.

It would make absolutely no difference. Pick up at least something like an i3 , games today do not work properly on any CPU with less that 4 threads.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Just seeing that imgur image....you do see you vram was maxed out, right? I see 2024 max there....yes, its 1600 mb now, but at some ppint it maxed it out... 2gb isnt enough for 1080p...

No it wont a core i5 or better will
This... dual cores and gaming just isnt a good idea. There are already some games that will NOT WORK with a dual.
