Total NOOB question please.

Hello all,

I have a i7 7700 4.2 My question is I've never overclocked or messed with anything. I downloaded CPU-Z and looked at the Gigabyte Z-270 MB program I have and they both say I'm hitting 4.7Gig on the CPU.. Is this a normal speed? On the CPU-Z program the Gig, voltage ETC. all bounces around. Anywhere from .662 volts to 1.223 volts and again from 800MHZ to 4.7Gig. Please let me know if this is normal or if this came overclocked. I bought it as a gaming computer but don't really game. Just wanted something fast.

So first off are you listening the correct cpu. Because the i7 7700K is s 4.2 CPU that will go to 4.5 on it own. This is normal. The i7 7700 is 3.5 to 4.2 I believe

Sounds like whoever you bought it from overclocked it for you. Probably loaded one of the pre-set overclock profiles in the BIOS and just left it.

I'm an idiot! Just checked my GB app center and it was set to OC 4.7 and not at default 4.5 Sorry to waste your time Ladies and Gentlemen. Thank you to all!
