Touching PSU and case good for grounding?

I don't have a Anti static wrist strap. So would touching the psu and case be good enough?

Turn off switch on psu but dont unplug from wall, preferably dont work while standing onn carpet.

if you put shoes on then ground yourself, will that work fine?

but I always have a part of me touching bare metal on my case.. over cautious I am but I think you can build up a bit of static from the clothes you wear too.. ?

Putting shoes on should work fine.. I wonder if some clothes can build up static.. even if you dont feel the static leave your body it can damage a component.
