Anyways, I like how fast this is becoming a reality! I'm glad that so many are getting involved in this, and making something that will show positive results and kicks ass! Good job so far W1z on the page! I think GamePowerUp! should have a similar TPU feeling for the moment, but do agree it's menu's should "mostly" be unique to gaming, ie consoles, genres, etc. But it should have some TPU familiarity as I think that will make it easy for those who know TPU to easily get into GPU, understand it's navigation, and it's layout via familiarity. Eventually I think it will grow to become it's own entity with it's own identity and vision, but for now I think being a little "too" familiar is a good idea.

Keep the ideas coming everyone! If we want to see this thing become kickass, we need to help in any way possible, even if that's just suggestions atm, thanks again W1z, TPU Staff involved and TPU members involved!

Also I noticed the polls has gotten some pretty good results, most think Agree, some think Meh or No, which is a good thing in my mind. Almost 2 days left (in my time zone) for the polls, so anyone whom hasn't voted should! Granted progress has started to become a reality, might as well get the last few in before it closes!

Also, what is the official direction W1z?

What I'm referring to is the review style direction. Is it going to be pro? Member? Thread? Select Persons? Winners of contests/drawing's?

Also, I had an idea as-far-as making the review style easier to follow once chosen if thread/consumer/member review based, make it form based. Have different sections the user should fill out, maybe a different upload button for a differing in-game image (at least 1-3 required, so users can see what different PC's play the game at, resolution and graphics settings based, they can get a good look and get an idea of what the game would look like on their system before buying! Have like pic 1, 2, 3, then others like Fraps FPS, Fraps Movie (could be interesting to also prove that at least 30fps was attainable at the reviewers settings), and an extenstion form for filling out or a way to post UserCP System Specs.

Or have a main review, that links to a main thread where there is a review section, tweaks section, mod section (maybe game dependent), troubleshoot / issue section, etc.

These are just ideas, and suggestions, but I have quite a few and would like to become as involved as I can be.

What about the reviews themselves? Would the main reviews be TPU Staff reviewed?

What about thread/viewer review options? Is there a way to implement a sort of form that would give a basic layout, I think it would kind of clean things up for thread-based reviews.

I'm curious to see some more of the "master plan" of this thing!

Again everyone, please keep posting ideas and suggestions! I believe member involvement is key to making GPU something unique as compared to other Gaming sites!

I again would like to thank everyone who's been involved whether for or against GamePowerUp! I would also like to thank the 70 users (aside from me) that took the time to vote! I'm still hoping to see suggestions and comments about this topic from everyone willing to toss out their two cents! I am looking forward to seeing GPU grow and become great! So please, keep pushing what you support and what you believe GPU should be!

I still hope to see member/consumer involvement more-so than any other game review site out there as I believe will be very successful and interesting. Having reviewers like you and I review games on systems that most of us consider affordable system builds, that don't necessarily meet the hi-end builds that are usually used in pro-reviews. What their takes on games could be a popular and strong selling point for many more gamers with similar builds.

And just to clarify a couple of things, I am an instigator of getting support for GPU, not the leader of it. I wouldn't mind being a part of it more professionally, but I am not the creator of the content or the being of GPU. If anything all of us from members to staff are the creators of GPU. I would like to thank W1z and involved TPU staff for getting involved and making GPU happen! Even if not involved more than a member, I look forward to seeing and experiencing GPU. I've recently recieved some e-mails about being the "leader" or "head" of gpu, again I am not. That would be the position of W1zzard at this current moment. But I will stay as involved as I can be no matter being on-staff or member.

To further expand on the idea of having a Main Review link to a sub-forum. I would like to see sections in that subforum such as Reviews (for members), Patches, Tweaks/Tuning, Mods, Problems/Troubleshooting, more or less depending on the game or PC/Console version. I feel this would create a strong gaming community and also a lot of noticability for TPU/GPU. Again, anyone whom has ideas or thoughts, please post them! That's what this thread was created for! If you have an idea post it so the creators can take what the masses want to see and create it! The more whom get involved the better GPU will be in my mind!

i think its a great idea and will get more hits on google for tpu too.

could we have the pc game reviews at a resolution everyone can possibly run,like 1280x1024 for example? i know lots of people have top notch hardware but if the game is tested at a vey high resolution,some people without such beefy hardware would have no idea how well the game would run on their machine.if the reviews are at a set resolution,people can judge how well it would run on their machine by using the framerate as a guide.

there could also be a section specifically for game controller reviews,like pads and wheels etc.not pc hardware like boards and cpu's which are on tpu.

I agree on having basic setups in games to compare with different systems, and also maybe a section for Widescreen gaming, and how these games performed on widescreen resolutions for systems that have them. I could help there also...

Definately going to need news posters, quite a few of them, we'll need to keep up on Game Demo's and Beta's, but as-far-as the review style we should have, I want to see more input on. I think it would be great if we get you guys involved, I want to stay as involved as possible with this, but even if I'm just a GPU Forum member, I can still do something for the good of GPU! I probably wouldn't be too good for news posting, as I don't go searching all the time for news and such, but I know there are plenty of members here on TPU that could fit that bill quite well!

A review section for gaming peripheral's could be a good thing, which could include PC and console and portable, I like it.

One question I still have is with the forums, I hope it is an easy thing for W1z and staff to get going, and if, I think it anything should appear before the final build page does in my opinion. Because I think if we start getting GPU forum support and members on it, getting the mod situation sorted out as-in figuring out which mods can take on the extra load of more threads to watch on a seperate forum, ones who don't and maybe GPU specific mods, get the sections working, and starting to get a community base, I think there would be good support and plenty of visits as the GPU site itself grows into the great entity I hope to see, I have it in my mind, and with W1z's and everyone's help, we can all make it something we can all enjoy!

i can do reviews for you guys also i buy most games (being adventure action/fps/etc) when they initially come out and sometimes i get them sooner than they come out . i work at a computer store im a tech so im always at a PC so i can answer game questions help people with strategies and hints, write reviews on games and all that good stuff...Let me know if your interested in trying me out i'd love to do it!

i also have a xbox 360 a decent gaming machine (waiting for the nvidia 9 series), and am buying a ps3 in about a week and own a wii, so i have all the consoles already

It be good to see reviews done by 10 people and all there thoughts put together in a review of a game. Maybe by people with differant interests.

This way would give much more info due to people like differant things.

A review one one person is one thing i would not be interested.

This way would give more to the reader overall as more likes and dislikes are said in the review.

You and Tig are probably right on there, having mods dedicated to each site is probably the best way to go about it. I'm sure the current mod staff is pretty busy with just TPU alone. But sharing supermods would probably be beneficial unless one of the supermods wants to transfer over to GPU or something. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the official word is from the top floor eh?

And on reviews, I think a thread could be started for submitting reviews for those willing to create and submit them, it doesn't matter the game or the console/PC, just to get some different styles and formats out there so we can see what it'll take to make a unique format and style. This could take a great load off of W1z and team for having to worry about this. I am considering reviewing a couple of games myself, so anyone who wants to is welcome to. In this thread or a new one, doesn't matter to me. I do want to see a multi-person review eventually, at least for PC's. Show the value of gameplay on lower-end, mid-range, and maybe upper-mid or high end stuff. Hope you guys like my first avatar hehe, I know it's lame, but it only took me like 5 minutes in Paint.net, it's been so long since I played with graphics programs (I build and designed websites back in the late 90's). If anyone wants to create a better one or even a sig banner, that'd be cool. I'm sure W1z or staff will eventually create something, but I wanted to have an avatar to show that I support GPU, and that it will become a reality!

Definitely agree,a new thread could give members here a chance to post the style of review that they would like to see,and others to give input on each one.I think we have enough members here on TPU to give an overall balance on different levels of hardware and platform types,that would give a good base for an end review.
I dont game alot myself,not since N64/PS2,family and work take up most of my time,but would still be interested in reading reviews,even older games,that I may be able to play for not a big outlay on new hardware and new release prices.

Yes,not everyone can keep up with new hardware,so knowing if you can play with your existing setup at different resolutions and FPS is defiantly a plus.
