@W1zzard this is not a bug, but more of a usability question.

I hit Reply against a post in another thread and got the quote pasted into the post editor at the bottom. However, I changed my mind about posting, so I deleted it by selecting all text and then hitting the backspace key. However, every time I go to that thread, the quote appears in that post editor, even if I repeat the deletion. Is there any way to flush this as it won't be needed?

Under new posts pop up box getting this...

Instead of the info like this:

This is in both Edge and IE 11.
Flushed caches and all temp files and it still does it.
Just that one post listing "Intel SSD 600p Series 512 GB".

there is floppy disk icon in post editior button bar (far right) hit drop down arrow next to it and then select "delete draft" from menu.
you need to do it every time you write post for longer then ~5 mins (@W1zzard can give exact time threshold) and then deside to scrap it.
drafts are bound to your account and will be preserved between devices you use.

I think the autosave works on various triggers, not just time.

Nice discovery btw, I wasn't aware of that icon either

ofc you can hit save button by yourself too

havent noticed other then time trigger. there is also "draft saved" pop up when it triggers.

I was getting "Fatal Error: Error opening database file (/home/techpowerup/www/include/GeoLite2-City.mmdb). Is this a valid MaxMind DB file? in Reader.php:263" for a while back there.

I tend to get it from my work PC on techpowerup.com. However, the proxy server does a MITM interception on SSL certs and slows down access (mainly latency) so it could be that causing it rather than a problem with TPU.

Norton, are you getting these errors while sitting behind a similar proxy or is it a normal home internet connection without filtering?

@W1zzard this is a feature request.

We can report our own posts to enable them to be edited after the 24 hour lockout, which I do fairly often. However, I then tend to forget which post it was, or forget about it altogether, so the mod takes the trouble of allowing editing in good faith, but then I never edit the post!

Would it be possible to have an alert for the post along with a link to act as a reminder? Note that I'm not asking for the mod to be identified, which I don't feel is necessary or appropriate, just the memory jogging alert.

Finally, I know why the 24 hour lockout was implemented, but I'm not a fan of it and causes me a fair bit of inconvenience* so could this policy please perhaps be reviewed? After all, it's always possible for a mod/admin to restore self-deleted posts from a user who's gone postal and as far as I can tell, this is a rare occurance.

*Those who know me know I'm a perfectionist and will easily go in and correct my own posts even many months or years later if I find a typo in them, or other way to improve it (it's usually within a few days though) so having this barrier is frustrating and off-putting.

or may be make time limit for posts editing graduated based on years of service (or post count)
for example
up to 6 mounts 12h editing limit
6m - 2 years -> 24h
2 - 5 years -> 48h
5 years and more unlimited.
