Gigabyte also has some "testing" bioses available that are really really rough Q&A wise, and thus not included in the main digest as they are more "alpha." Check this thread if you want them:

http://forum.gigabyte.us/thread/886/am4-beta-bios-thread

They are prefixed with a "T"

For the crosshair VI, 1107 has been removed from their support page and replaced with 1201. 1107 had issues with hanging on boot. Testing 1201 shortly.

I edited the link to the direct file. You are probably pulling a cached page. Try another browser or clear cache.

I doubt it because my browser is set to clear cache on every close for this exact thread and reason. But I'll try.

What OS are you selecting, by chance?

EDIT: It appears only 8.1 and 32-bit listings list your bios. I'm marking it (beta?) because I don't know what to make of that, lol.

As soon as it gets promoted though, which I'm sure it will, I'll mark it the main entry.

Ok, it must be my local ASUS west coast server not fully updating or something.

I'll take your word for it at this point and mark it the latest. :)

Sorry for the skepticism but you know we have to fact-check. Have a pile of thanks.

Used a gigabyte x370 gaming 5 here. F6d is worse than F5. I was able to run xmp fine but after shutting down and using it again after a few hours, I experienced the soft brick issue problen with these boards.

No problem. I just restarted, with 1107 BIOS, and i had to cut power to PSU to get a post. So I decided to check for an update, saw 1201, came here and saw a posting about BIOS updates. Cheers!:toast:

EDIT: So far so good with no hangs on booting with 1201. With 3.8GHz CPU overclock and 4x16GB DIMMs at 2666 using DOCP Standard profile. Hopefully this one fixes the cold boot issue.

Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming K5 is basically the same thing as the GA-AX370-Gaming 5 right? So I should be able to use the new BIOS on my K5? I ask because the K5 has not been updated since 4/10 and that was the ONLY update the damn board got. Far as I can tell the only differences between the K5 and 5 are aesthetical in nature...but if I'm wrong please correct me as I do dislike bricking boards.

I can't advise crossflashing bioses in general. It almost never ends well.

I updated to 1201 on my Asus Crosshair Hero VI and now my ram is frozen on 2133 no matter what I put in. I will say the overclock saved, but it still it's only at 2133

I still month or even 2 away from purchase (1800X, slightly above minimum wage still sucks :)), GB are really down to a crawl on these updates, for a lack of better/harsher wording. lol 20+ mem profiles & registers sounds yummy though. :)

Used a gigabyte x370 gaming 5 here. F6d is worse than F5. I was able to run xmp fine but after shutting down and using it again after a few hours, I experienced the soft brick issue problen with these boards.

I have the same board and updated to F6d and had no such problems. In fact I was able to get past 2666 ram speed to 2999 which I could not do with F3-F5. I haven't had time yet to test beyond 2999 because I'm on vacation this weekend. But I will resume testing to get to and beyond 3200mhz Monday evening. BTW... (successful) Timing for my GSkill c16 32gb (2x16) 3200mhz ram at 2999 is 17 18 18 18 38 t2 1.4v it's stable at 1.35v as well but snappier at 1.4v

It's a known fact with all the AM4 boards that automatic use of the XMP profiles is not the way to fly as xmp is an Intel standard in the first place and Ryzen uses completely different memory architecture. Even if your board and ram "supports" xmp, you should enter the settings manually for best chance at successful results.

Yep did it manually as well. My RAM sticks aint on the qvl list but I was able to get it to 2666. I think that is more than enough for me and I wish they add that pstate OC soon.

Any OC you do on this board makes the voltage run at constant even though the cpu had clocked down.
