Hi guys my friend has an nvidia GTX1060 and an LG 24GM77 monitor which is 1080p with 144hz and 1ms refresh rate and he wants to add 2 more for surround gaming but the price of this monitor hasgone up to around £300 if you can find one. you can find the newer version of this which is the LG24GM79G which is also a 1080p 144hz 1ms refresh rate but this is a Freesync monitor at £200 so if he buys both these will they work perfect with his old one in a triple gaming monitor setup ?

Will work fine. Freesync wont inhibit the monitor in any way. It's just there to take advantage of if you have a compatible radeon card.

Should have no worries.

He will need more horsepower then just a GTX1060 to drive three times the pixels.

What game is your friend looking to play ?

Dirt 2/3/showdown will work fine.

Burnout paradise will work as well.

Anything new might have issues at that resolution.

he is looking to play project cars 2 and maybe battlefield 1. I was thinking about will he need more power cos I don't know how it works. so if he uses all 3 is it like running in a higher resolution so he will need to turn graphics settings down to keep fps up ? or does it not work like that ?

He might as well stick to 1 monitor for those games.

more monitors = higher resolution = more demanding on the card

You can turn down settings but it would look like mud if a game could run 3 monitor.
