Hi,

i have a x670e ASUS EXTREME with a 7700X but i am really disappointed with TEMPS and power usage even in IDLE mode BROWSING!

i have tried for weeks to enable ECO mode but while it is activated in BIOS it is NOT available in RYZEN MASTER and even when i activate it on BIOS no lower temps and power usage so i have GIVEN UP on it.

i had better Luck on MANUAL MODE and i could immediately press APLPLy and have it applied WITHOUT Resetting.

The problem is that i had to APPLY it every time i logged into windows but i was OK with that. I would have Vcore at around 1.00 to 1.15 volts it would be stable and temps would be between 49 to 55 degrees! Much better.

there has been an update lately and every time i try to Apply the Manual Undervolt it has to RESET windows. It seems that my ASUS board and its overclocking tweaks collide with RYZEN MASTER. I get POST image. i have to go inside BIOS reset settings and then log on to windows and repeat the process.

While i love AMD and ASUS hasn't let me down the last 8 years. i have found the latest implementations quite horrid!

My questions:

How to APPLY RYZEN MASTER settings without RESETTING so i can have manual UNDERCLOCKING

and if not possible how to do this in BIOS MODE manually.

I am just gonna let you know that 7000 series are going to run hot no matter what you do even at idle, they have very high thermal density, there is not much that can be done.

i have managed to lower with undervolting! the issue the MOBO starts pushing high temps

Do you use Ryzen Master? If you use its ECO mode you'll definitely see a temperature drop, albeit with a performance hit (which may or may not be noticeable to you).

Just eco in the bios or manually drop voltage in the bios. Ryzen Master is not your friend.

Also, fyi, typing LIKE this DOESN'T pass the POINT of the THREAD.

ECO mode doesn't appear on AMD Ryzen Master. I have tried to activate via the BIOS but no result/change! i think Asus has done a very bad job this time either Bios speaking or Overclocking/temps

Ryzen master has done an amazing Job at lowering temps the problem is that it doesn't stick and takes a lot of time to set it up
POINT MADE :)
I am not a pro Underclocker and i would like to have detailed guide on how to do that in my specific Motherboard

Every chip runs different. You can curve optimize for lower voltages which can take a long time since you can either do all cores at once or each core itself. You can also do an offset in the bios for dropping the voltage by X amount. Look up lowering voltage via offset and test until it's unstable. Super easy.

ECO mode is in Ryzen Master. I'm looking at it right now. You need to be in Basic View mode.

In any case, these CPUs are designed for 95c. Thats how the turbo is setup. ECO mode will drop it to like 70c.

You cannot. Thats how all OC software works. One overrides the other. ECO mode is somewhere in the BIOS as well, but doing a PBO curve adjustment will serve you better.

Here is a quick video from a XOC guy.

I always thought Asus made bios's for higher performance which generally comes with higher temps. This might have been displayed at the time you wished to enable XMP. Things such as the SOC voltage usually gets a healthy bump from it's sub 1v stock setting. Since this is near the CPU die, it increases the CPU temps. Cache as well. VID and V-Core are not the same also. If you're not aware of this, watch which readings you look at from various programs. Typically the off die temp "package temp" may be higher or lower than core temps too. This depends on the cooling environment.

Well...... Back to my point, Most Asus higher end boards are simply designed for one purpose in mind. Overclocking and Tweaking. Sacrifice with heat.

I always beg the question about the cooling though. At what point is a person satisfied with "temps", and are they or do they, ever become a real concern.
My silly opinion would be no. No real concern, the cpu is designed to run full tilt all they way up to it's thermal throttle limits. For you, 95c Package or core temp, whichever comes first. The cpu simply throttles and you loose performance. If you reach this, upgrade the cooling. Be it the cpu cooler, case, fan configuration or simply lowering the ambient temp may help keep performance up. Realistically, you could run that chip under any cooler and it'll never go over 95c lol.

TLDR
But no, Asus doesn't gear towards low temps and poor performance as far as I'm aware. Temps are nothing more than a fear monger.
