Unigene Benchmark question

So, basic start off:
i5 2500k OCed
GTX 970
8 gb ram
750 watt Psu.

Ok, so whenever I played a game (Dark Souls 3 for example), I only get a value of ~40-50 GPU% usage. When I first load Unigene heaven and its playing through the scenes, I get about the same GPU usage %. However, when I run the actual benchmark (f9) where its recording, GPU usage jumps to over 90% (which is where it should be, including games).

So my questions is: what is the difference to playing the scenes, and playing them in benchmark mode. More to the point, how can I get it to run that way all the time.

I've cleanly uninstalled (ddu program) drivers, installed multiple versions of drivers, power management for windows and GPU are both set to max performance, did a complete fresh windows install (and many other things) and nothing fixed it. Extremely frustrating to buy a good card and not have it run correctly. Help me Obi-wan Kenobis... you're my only hope?

Your worrying about nothing. Your GPU does not need to run at 100% all the time. And you don't want it too. As long as your benchmark on point then your good.

Check your results with others on the thread for Heaven
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/unigine-heaven-4-0-benchmark-scores.198888/

I guess I wasn't clear, I'm getting low fps in games while only utilizing ~50 Gpu%. When Heaven is running im getting ~50%, when i run the actual benchmark (f9) it finally utilizes all <90% of gpu. When I run the f9 benchmark that is the ONLY time my gpu uses >60 gpu usage %. Not in game, not while showing the same heaven scenes as before i press the f9 benchmark.

Why remove GeForce Experience. I've never had an issue with it? Although it does have some settings that can cause problems

nase fill out your specs in the user profile. Post your Heaven score 1080, Extreme, Ultra 8x aa

So your game play is slow? what resolution, what game, or all games

Ah just a follow up after finally realizing and solving the problem. The mounting of my stock cpu fan was broken. In game, it was running at 97 degrees C. It would then throttle my processor down to something like ~1.8 Ghz. After I downloaded RealTemp and seeing how hot my cpu was running, ordered an actual heatsink/fan and problem fixed. Props to my i5 2500k for being a beast and being able to run at such high temperatures for so long (idle ~70-80C, gaming 97C) quite likely for YEARS and still come out of it okay once properly cooled. Embarrassed I didn't realize and figure this out sooner, but happy its resolved. Doubt many people would have this issue but wanted to put this out as another option for people to look into if they have a similar problem/symptoms!
