Unlock the shaders - AMD Radeon RX 560D

Can this be done on first gen GCN? My Cape Verde should have 2 locked CUs.

I expect the early batch of cards were Repackaged /rebranded full RX560's and later Cards were laser cut so software Modding/bios flashing will not work
Early Buyers got lucky :) later buyers miss out
Same thing happened with the unlockable extra Ram from 4 Gb to 8Gb on some earlier AMD Cards

I had the chance to chose between this one and the RX560 (1024s), because of the dual fan cooling had chose this one assuming the unlocking possibility :( the price has the same 139.9€. I face it as part of the fun... :)

Be well

Search for 6F 22 70 22 with Hex editor, if it finds just replace 70 for 6F, save, fix checksum, flash,´and check with GPU-Z.

would have been nice for you to have scored one that was unlockable But i suspect that they were only available in the 1st Batch later ones would be manafactured with GPU die's that did not meet the QA for the full CU's and so ended up (laser cut ) in the RX 560 D ( or lite depending what the ended up being marketed as ).

As an informed buyer I knew what I has buying, but the problem is that there is no difference on the marketing name they are all RX560 in this case : Sapphire Radeon RX 560 Pulse 4GB OC, and It should not be. ASUS call it as EVO to differentiate from the old batches, witch is an improvement, not perfect but at least it shows a difference.

Yes its a known marketing fail from AMD ( and AIB Partners )
Some have called it a marketing Scam and others that thought they were getting the "Full Card" have felt Ripped off when they get the Cut down Version
There have been quite a few posts/threads on this Subject Both Here on TPU and other Sites

I suspect, that some GPUs which failed certain aspects of final inspection or didn't meet certain criteria have been labeled as 560(D), which had to be dumped before. Those at least can't have their shaders increased to the "standard" of 1024.
This improves production yield for AMD and enhances profits for both sides, AMD and their partners.

Hello, could you take a look on this bios file and unlock shaders if it's possible please ?
I tought that using original bios for 1024 shaders version is perhpas not a good idea … Am I wrong ?

d) - Save BIOS Crtl+S.

2 - Correct BIOS checksum:

a) Open BIOS with Polaris Editor (Read the notes on link)

I can confirm! My ASUS 4GB RX560 ROG Strix OC EVO Gaming is now unlocked to 1024 shader.
Buy from January 2018.

After flashing the card, it was running fine with 16 CUs without any change voltage @ 1197MHz.
Since today my GPU Core Clock is reduced to ~800 MHz under load.

My ASUS 4GB RX560 ROG Strix OC EVO Gaming has no additional power connector and GPU-Z says Board Power Limit is 48 Watts.

So I have to decided to undervolt the GPU to 1038mV to bring the GPU Core Clock back to 1197 MHz as it was with 14 CUs.
It`s running now with 1250MHz and 1038mV with tempertures below 65°C.

Has anyone else the same behavior?

Strange!

everyone with 560Ds show me your gpuz screenshots please, i can use for the database :D

state the exact model too.

your look up button should work, thats why i need the gpuz shots knowing your model i can make it so you see what it looks like.

aGeoM, thank you for this manual. I successfully unlocked my PowerColor AXRX 560 2GBD5-DHA to 1024 shaders :)
Has anyone failed with unlocking? Seems AMD haven't separate chip with less shaders inside.

I am not sure, if this is possible in your case.
May be the GPU has been physically locked by disabling / moddifying the corresponding shader hardware.
I tried the same and it didn't work using a different 560D card. Still got the 896 shaders info when calling GPU-Z and other software.

hi there, maybe mine is a bit different. mine is rx 550 4gb baffin with shaders 640. can u help unlock this for me?
thanks

Hi

You can try unlocking following the guide, but is not guaranteed that will unlock, there are cards like my Sapphire 560(D) physically locked.
