Unlocking 4th core safe?

Ok...so my friend has a amd athlon ii x3 450 and a Biostar A880G motherboard..He wants to unlock the 4th core on the cpu but is not sure if it is safe soo...will it be safe for him to unlock the 4th core?

Safe, sure.. Though it may be unstable after you do it. If it becomes unstable, just reset the CMOS.

if it gets unstable as erocker talks about, try giving it a little more juice to see if it gets stable and if it does, u r luck and can enjoy a quad-core ^^
