Hey all,
I went through a number of posts here in order to find the best settings that would suit my CPU, unfortunately I could not find them.
The CPU reaches high degrees and really bad results, I have attached 2 screenshots with the settings and results.
Would appreciate help, thank you!

Ha - I'm tweaking my i7 9750H right now too.

If that undervolt is stable as-is, I would just drop the core freq range to something like 36,35,34,33,32,31 and change the Turbo Boost Long/Short Maxes to 45/60.

Maybe even just set all your cores to 32,32,32,32,32,32 and drop the Turbo Short/Long Max to 45/45 for each. - My system is pretty much optimal at this setting. My undervolt maxes out at -130 though, but still solid.

See if you can pass a TSbench 1024m without Thermal/Power throttling or any errors.

OK, I made the settings you said and it worked, i passed TSbench 1024m Thermal/Power throttling or any errors.
What score did you get?

Update: when I plug out the AC I got constant yellow EDP other both on core and ring.

Update1: when I ran cinebench the pc crashed and turned off, and the score was the lowest i got ever. (see in screenshot)

My Cinebench scores are usually between 2430 and 2511, without any errors or throttling using my settings.

I have an HP Spectre laptop, which doesn't have that great cooling. That's why I keep my core freqs lower.

Here are all my settings:

TS - TS Main stable.PNG

TS - FIVR Stable.PNG

TS - TPL Stable.PNG

Cinebench.PNG

^ I just ran that Cinebench while typing this message. No errors or throttling alerts in TS. CPU peaked at 89C before fans kicked in and GPU peaked at 57C. My average CPU temp during the test was 82C.

You have a different GPU and probably a different laptop altogether, so you'll probably need to do more customization toward your hardware.

My goal wasn't to max performance though - mine was to optimize performance at temps under 90C.

---For you, hitting 100C at 3.2GHz seems unusually high. I would temporarily click the "disable turbo button" on your TS main screen and run the test again to see if your temps are still high. If they are still really high at the base 2.6GHz freq, then your laptop might have some cooling issues.

another proof that "gaming" laptops sucks big time.... People didn't learn that all of mobile 8th and 9th series i5 and i7 are overheating and this is normal for them....This is the main reason that you buy something powerful and can't use it's max potential due to temperature problems and have to make so many gimmicks to work at least.....

There is lots of people that need "gaming" laptops for some reasons. My reason, I live on a 32-foot sailboat. I rather have more space for that engine oil and filters than a full size desktop, oh, and I only have 500w of solar panels, my battery pack is LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) 400ah at 12v. So space and power are very limited for me.
I'm fine with 3.7ghz at 100%, I dont need more.

Check these settings. Test with TSBench (no errors should appear on 1,2 and 16 threads at 1024 test) and Cinebench R20 (no yellow or red boxes should pop-up in TS Limit reasons). As Caring1 said - max IccMax values. My temps stay below 88 C if room temp is below 25 C (up to 90 C in heavy games). There's no need to check Speed Shift - EPP box if the laptop is setting it properly (in my case - 0 at Turbo and Performance mode, 84 in Balanced and 128 in battery saver).
If you're stuck at one location, probably would be a little bit better to by a big peace of desktop machine. If you travel a lot and work and play from different locations, it would be a nonsense.
I don't understand, why everybody thinks these laptops are for games only. I only test them with games. 99% of usage time is with high demanding CAD/CAM software. Even if they were used as game machines, I would not bother buying a desktop PC, considering all its limitations and space required. Haven't used PC since 10+ years and will never do this to myself again.

I made exactly the same settings, the temperatures jumped straight to 90-100.
At rest it is in the 40-45 range and it is plugged in to AC, but if I open chrome it also goes up to 95 degrees for a second and goes back to 45 again.

Have you repasted with new thermal compound, maybe its dry.

Bad paste or application. Most often it comes like this from the factory. Repaste, using proper high-temp grade paste. I did mine on week 2 since new. Took me 4 attempts trying different pastes and application methods, until succession. All good since then.

Its not that expensive has you would think, you just need time to find the correct boat.

I replaced the paste using arctix mx-2 and still the cpu temp going crazy.. don't know what to do.

One thing I haven't touched when undervolting are the IccMax ranges.

My CPU Core IccMax is at 140.00 and the CPU Cache IccMax is at 11.00. I assume those are default values as I never touched them. The Cache Ratio box shows it set at Default in the CPU Cache settings. It's blank in the CPU Core settings. I never touched them, so I don't know if adjusting the other settings move them automatically or not?

I'm curious how raising or lowering them would relate to undervolting. Can I get lower temps adjusting them with my other settings somehow?

I'm also curious how they relate to the Turbo Boost Max sort/long settings and the voltage.

While you're correct that the heating issues in laptops are a thing, they don't suck at all. Being able to play COD Warzone with a mix of medium settings at 144 Hz almost anywhere is quite nice. The power brick is big and heavy, but its not an issue if you're carrying it in a backpack.

I haven't done any undervolting on my Eluktronics MAX-15 yet except for the built-in BIOS undervolt of -100mv. I'll try out ThrottleStop again (I did this with a Dell G5 5587 last year) and share what I get.

Try applying very thin and evenly spread layer of paste. Tighten the screws, following the numbers in the correct order. Use good paste. Old generation of pastes have max working temp of 110 C and degrade very quickly, when used over 85 C (I think MX2 is just this type). New pastes have a max working temps of over 200 C. I tried with MX4, Arctic Silver 5 and some more. In all cases, after a week or two, the temps started to rise quickly and I was hitting thermals very fast. In your case it's probably the application method as you're having no improvement right after reapplying. Don't hesitate to try more if the first time there was no improvement. It took me 4 attempts until finding proper paste and application method.

You can update the BIOS, but after doing a bit of research, it seems to be an issue with that gen of HP Omen unfortunately.

Some people says that updating the BIOS changes some fan curves for the good. So you might want to try that.
Some people have open a ticket support with HP and have been able to successfully replace the heatsink - thermal paste, but most of them says that there's little to no change.

Have you lowered to power consumption of the CPU in the BIOS?

You might need to buy one of those things if you really can't get to have right temps :

It was a game changer, back when I had my Eurocom.

Thanks for your answer, I have the latest version of the BIOS, and I am also using cooling pad, but something is wrong I don't know to tell what, every action on your computer causes a drastic change in the temperature, for example if I go into chrome the temperatures jump from 40 to 60-70 per second or two and drop back down, but remain unstable.

Cool thing about this laptops is that past certain temperatures when gaming/streaming (90ºC), your usb ports just go poof, and stop working.

Well, the memory controller is in the CPU so it makes sense, but it does mean that they knew there would be an issue...
You can try and delid the CPU... I never heard of somebody trying.

No one try to delid a mobile CPU because there is no IHS :D, the CPU die make direct contact with the heatpipes.

The discrepancy between cores temperature in your case (1 core at 100C while the other at 85C) suggests that your paste application is not good, either the paste is not spread properly or not enough pressure is applied.

Here's the issue, if there's no IHS, how could there be a bad paste application if the surface is only the (tiny "block")+heatsink? I think this HP OMEN model laptop has a thermal existence crisis.
Or there's something I'm missing. But you're right my last eurocom had no IHS. There was thermal pads.....
