Hi!

Like the topics says does it make any sense to sell my Palit GTX 275 and get a 5830? The 5850 is too expenssive for me :(

Dont buy a HD5830 ... way to underpowered VS the other HD58xx and an HD5770 isnt that far away for less money.

HD5850 is the way to go HD58xx ( Or HD5870 ... )

The 275 is *faster* than a 5830! See this, courtesy of Wizzard his fine self.

He just said the 5850 was too expensive for him (as would the 5870 be). To answer the question, I don't think you'd see a whole lot of performance gain (if any at all) from the 5830. So unless dx11 and lower power consumption are really important to you, I'd just say wait and try to find a used 5850 within your price range or just hold out and see what the next gen of cards coming out this fall looks like.

Keep the GTX275 until you can buy a more substantial upgrade (afaik, that wouldn't even be an upgrade, it would be a sidegrade).

That is the best way to go. Who knows, once you have enough money saved up there might be something even better out there. :toast:
