Damm i just done some Research and i realize i need to upgrade my Crystal Ball to something like 8k
I'll get back to later
LMAO. This summarizes this thread tbh
@mike3w3 We cannot predict the future, we can only look at trends, and the trend is that NOT A SINGLE GPU is tied to a specific resolution or timeframe. The main factor at work is your own preference in terms of graphics quality and FPS. Overkill in GPUs does not exist. Simple. It just doesn't. Today's overkill is tomorrow's lacking performance. People say here that 1080ti is way too much for 1080p? I guarantee you I can push that card to 100% utilization in quite a few recent titles @ 1080p/120hz. And it won't provide me locked 120fps, not even close.
When 1070 was released people yelled 'omg its the 1440p card I always wanted'. A year later, and its insufficient for max settings 1080p in some games. Why? Because games are now developed for consoles with better specs = major bump in required performance. Most triple A games still are console ports or at least based around console hardware performance.
...the OP sounds young so my question would be do you even have a budget for a new card? You already asked about getting a 8700k build to replace your 4770k build. You are talking about over 1k in new hardware.
See, some crystal balls are very accurate, like this one
