upgrade

im new to tpu and computer building, and i dont get alot of money but my birthday is in april, and someone is sending me a XFX Geforce 6800XT graphics card, and i was wondering what else ishould get to upgrade performance wise,im getting at least 70 for my birthday,can anyone help me please? people are now telling me to get a gpu does anyone know what to aim for look at my system specs to see what i already got. please hlep me.

New hard drive. I think your system is nice for a mid-range graphics card.

That or 4GB of RAM or one of the Phenom II X2. And the Phenom II X2 should unlock to a Phenom II X4. But either way a new CPU will definately be an improvement over a 5400+.

hmmm, that video card isn't much (as in its 3-4 generations old), but your processor is old as well.

I think that mobo on your specs accepts Phenom IIs. Even a Phenom II 550BE would give you a good boost ($90):

I'm not really that familiar with AMD so maybe somebody could verify if his board can accept that processor.

Yep any Phenom II will work fine in that board.
