upgrade?

Im thinking about upgrading from my GForce 7600GS vga to something more up to date but I cant decide between three, If you notice all three have black boards because thats what I want. My mobo is a P5KE WiFi/black board, sound card is a HT Omega Claro/black board, so I want it to match. If you know of a better one than these with a black board, do tell. And im not a gamer accept flight sim, and mayabe guitar hero 3, but I do watch movies on my pc. What would you suggest? thanks

if u got the money take the second card on your list the 8800gt. if want to save money just grab the top one because u dont play much games any way

do xfx have a black pcb 8600 gts thats what i would go for. it still got good hd support for movies and its good for games. an 8800gt might be overkill :laugh:

I do like that one, the only problem is that I might have to get all new sata cables w/90degree angles on one end because that card looks like it will go right over the top of them.

8600GTS 512 it is then

It'll be more than adequate for what you'll be using in for and they're nice and short

I'd personally replace the SATA cables and get the 8800GT. Not being a heavy gamer, the 88 will still last him longer than the 86.

oh I suppose, I've just begun to think budget a lot more lately

he'll be spending about $40 for the card AR, plus like $15 for the cables unless he can find nice ones cheap which I doubt he'll want to do if he's particular about the internal appearance which I gather he is since he wants the black PCB

Replacing the sata cables is not a big deal, and the 8800 seems to be more future proof, but will there be a real noticable difference between the two for me?

There's a big difference between the 2. Even if you don't notice it now, in a year or 2, the difference would be very clear.

8600GT is more than enough. Why not the new 3800 Series cards? Very good for HD movies.
