Upgrading a few features for my buddys dell.

There is one other piece of equipment that you might want to look into.
Everytime someone puts a new piece of equipment into their Dell they always need to replace the PSU (Power Supply Unit).
The reason is bc Dell puts the bare minimum that the system requires in their computers.
So that would cause you to need a new PSU if you put something new in.

get something simple for the cooler, doesnt have to be hardcore if hes not overclocking. $20 cooler will work wonders, buy a Thermaltake 500w PSU for $79, and spend the other $60 on the motherboard. Im sure he could cough up another $10 and buy 3 80mm's...

Luckily I have the tr2 430w thermaltake PSU lying around

Is the ram (samsung) compatable with the mobo im getting, does ram on a dell (that comes with it) compatable with another motherboard, its made by samsung.... so its not a dell manufactered product?

It's out of stock at Newegg but you will find it most anywhere, just posted that for the spec/reviews.

Ohhh and it's easy to install also! I had one, no screws and it never let me down.

i have one on a pentium d 930 it runs great and it is quiet

I've never had a problem taking memory out of a dell and putting it on another motherboard. The only problem occurs when you try to do the opposite and put good memory on a dell motherboard.

I finished!!!!!!!! Everything looks and runs great! The cpu is nice and cool (around 36'ish c i think), the mobo is very nice.... everything runs alot faster, hes very happy, tonight he will be gaming and stuff. the pc looks great!!! Another sucessfull build

Well, It seems to lag in css.... Not sure of the fps or framrates cause I didn't put a config in yet....

He has a crappy dell x300se (came with the e310 model)...

Think A new video card would do the trick.. I need a cheap one, like a 110$ x850xt?

you know, if you want to pump a bit of xtra life out of that x300...

i was able to get a 73% mem, 25% core o/c on my x300se from msi. usable for about a month or two, but then it blew up.

Heatsinked card... from a dell...

You think the lag of keys, and mouse (when you move mouse a second later the cursor moves) is from this low end ddr vid card??

If so In about a week or two he will probably get a x850xt..

i upgraded the cooler to a vf700 zalman, so thats most likely why......
