Upgrading config

Hi guys,

im looking to upgrade my current config with something more powerful but no changes regarding the gpu (yet). I feel like my cpu is starting to decline considering the heavy load I put on it, games like warzone, streaming twitch and google chrome with 475838228tabs. Also doing video editing.

current config :

i7 4770k
Noctua NH-U9B
16gb ram
gtx 1660 super
SSDs 1to x2
Z97-HD3 motherboard
VS 550 Corsair PSU
Corsair Carbide 200r

Budget : My budget will be around 500-600€ Up to 700€

Things I’d like to change :
CPU : Ryzen 9 seems like a great option although a bit expensive for my budget.
MOTHERBOARD : anything that fits the cpu
RAM : 32 gb
power supply : if I need to ?

Thanks for your input, looking forward hearing your thoughts.
Best,

PSU is best to upgrade since you thinking of upgrading the gpu to something more powerful down the line.
Specs I can recommend
Ryzen 7 5800x
Msi B550 A-Pro
32GB DDR4 3600mhz

Psu - I can recommend Seasonic Focus PX (Platinum) or Focus GX (Gold) 750w
(850w) if you want a monster gpu like an RTX 3090 super later..

Only amd? do you want intel as well?
Intel 12th looks interesting on paper and thats coming out in a few months time.
oh you'll need a cooler as well

Keep the GPU and the PSU (it will need to be changed only if you OC and need considerably higher than the stock ~140W into the CPU) and get a B550 Tomahawk with a pair of 16GB 3600 c16 RAM sticks from G-Skill preferably and whatever CPU fits the rest of the budget. With the use you wrote I would prefer a 3900X or if possible a 5900X. 5800X would be great but a bit less than needed to keep it for years to come me thinks.

I would suggest keeping the PSU until you upgrade to something drawing a lot of power that it actually can't withstand.
For AMD CPUs, remember to go for RAM frequencies from 3200 to 3600 for max performance.

your cpu cooler most likely will be inadequate for 3900x so you'll need to change it with something better.

if that is too expensive you can get 3700x
or
you can go with latest AM4 tech and keep it for 5-6 years.

as others said psu should be ok for now but when you change gpu you should consider that option too depending on gpu you chose. VS is quite low tier psu so consider changing it asap with seasonic, evga, xfx or superflower gold

Sheesh. End of life platform vs upcoming new platform, I'd always choose upcoming new platform if I'm being honest. But tbh I never trust Intel keeping 3-4 year platform like AMD's AM* does. Regardless, unless a sale is going on wherever you're buying I'd wait until Intel 12k series drops.

Also keep the PSU for now. Upgrade it when you upgrade GPU.
