I have a i7 7700
the i7 7700 is basically the fastest CPU for the 100 and 200 chipset motherboards. No upgrade path without replacing the CPU and motherboard.

Edit: BUT, the i7 7700 is no slouch. (We're not talking about an i7-7700S or i7-7700T are we?) You can definitely pair that CPU with a faster GPU, but we need to know what power supply you have before we go further.

This. There isnt an i9 cpu compatible with your system. As far as doing it physically, relatively steady hands are required to get it in the right spot without dropping it in the socket and ruining the pins.

To the OP - you say you want it super fast... but for what? Games? Your cpu is fine.. you would just need a better video card. But as others said, what power supply do you have? Fill out system specs so we can help out better.

I'm assuming your monitor is 1920 x 1080?

Study on overclocking and just upgrade the gpu. If you dont have a SSD, get one from crucial or samsung, even SATA types are lightning quick.

if your kid plays simple games, your current machine is more than enough for him. No need to spend more, get a better machine in a couple years when he is older. For now i would stay put, even changing the ssd to a slightly faster one you wont even notice the difference.

Start from the beginning. Give us your full current specs down to the smallest detail including your monitor and intended resolution. Let us know what you want to do with the system and what it currently isn't doing for you. the more details the better.
