I'm looking forward to upgrade to this Kaby lake generation.
I currently own a system with a haswell 4570 in it.
Been looking through the line-up from different manufacturers and
I saw this interesting bundle from Biostar.

A Z270 motherboard ( I think it's their high end one ) bundled with
a 256Gb Intel 600p m.2 SSD.

Sold at $328 for the bundle. The SSD alone costs $100 and the remaining
goes to the board.
I think it's a fair deal since I will be having their top of the line
Z270 and a free m.2 SSD.

Your suggestions will be highly considered.

328 for a motherboard seems a little high I think.. what are you going to do with the 4 PCIE slots anyway? Do you really need that?

Has 6 pci-e slots :)

Not much point for one graphics card, expensive too, even with the free ssd.

At the end of the day bud, it's your money. Personally, I usually stick with Asus for motherboards, and usually Matx as i only ever use ! gpu, and there are some pretty stonking Matx boards nowadays.

If your in the US its not that good of a deal. Also I avoid bundles I'm just afraid they put the hardware no one wants

I do actually built a matx back then. Pretty small build that fits anywhere. Then I needed a lot o hard drives and a matx case could only house a few so I switched back to an atx and a midtower.
A matx board doesn't look right in a huge case, I guess.

That's a new m.2 ssd released by intel, I guess everyone wants to have one.

your money would be much better spent by getting an i7 7700k and a less expensive motherboard

This would be a sidegrade to what you have. Not worth spending when that CPU can be overclocked.

The only way you would have a True Upgrade is to go RYZEN or skt 2011-3 or the Next Intel HEDT socket

i might need those pcie slots, i currently have a gtx 960 and might do sli soon.

This isn't much of an upgrade. If your primary intent is gaming, better save the money for another GTX960, although a single GTX 960 will do just fine at 1080p.

With your current specs, I wouldn't upgrade before Q2 2018. That's just my opinion.

do you think the bundle is not worth it?

Ryzen is around the corner. Even if you don't like AMD I'm pretty sure there will be some price cuts from Intel.

Yes thanks for the heads up, I will also wait for the Ryzen and anticipate if intel's prices would be affected.

That one is nothing special

Idk but this would be the first time i saw a board with a built-in m.2. could be the reason for the m.2 shield

Why don't you wait to see what Ryzen has to offer before buying this? It's just around the corner.

I've also been an AMD user before (AM3 days). FX series was a disappointment so I switched to intel.
I've watched ryzen's launch and it's promising.

I decided not to upgrade and give my old one to my wife who also plays. I am not actually building a new one.

its an okay deal sure. but if someone asked me if I would rather spend an extra $100 on a motherboard, or on a CPU, I'd say CPU every time. 7700k will give you a significant performance boost.

So will you wait for the official reviews before buying? Just seems prudent to me.

I would love to have an i7, too bad I can afford one. I guess I'm stuck having i5's... or a ryzen

I am really considering that. Actual benchmarks would really help me decide.

I believe you said you are in the US but this isn't worth it IMO. I bought an Asus X-99 Aii and a Intel 600p 512GB last month separate and paid $340 total. I'd look at getting another board and look for the M.2 to go on sale.

I paid 160eur from my Asus Z170 Pro Gaming & Intel 600p 256GB bundle, that sounds pretty damn expensive.

I upgraded from Pentium G4400 (Skylake, 3.3GHz, 2c/2t) to G4560 (Kaby Lake, 3.5GHz, 2c/4t) since it's kinda like i3 but with just not branded as an i3. Of course I'm going to get a 7600K later on, but right now I'm on a tight budget. But I wouldn't buy so damn expensive MB unless it's Asus ROG series or something similar high-end stuff, but that's of course just my opinion..
