Hi Guys,
Firstly thank you for a great site.. I always read here before upgrading/tinkering my PC. Its been long since i upgraded my Graphics card. I presently have a Sparkle Nvidia 7300GS and its catering to my needs(gaming, movies etc). I am planning to upgrade the same to Sparkle Nvidia GT520 2GB DDR5.

I just wanted to get an opinion whether GT520 is better than 7300 GS? i have heard some mixed review about GT520.
Thank you for your comments :)

Well if you are looking to see improvements by getting the GT520, then yes. However, the GT520 is best suited for HTPC usage and not gaming usage. If you are going with nVidia and want to buy an affordable GPU, the the 560Ti would probably best suit almost any gaming needs with playable fps.

You're better off getting a better card. The GT520 isn't much of an upgrade. If you really don't have enough money, get a GT 430 or 440 instead.

Do you play games? There was no mention of games before so I suspect that isn't an issue. I like the idea of the GT 520 because there is a PCI-E 1x solution which could be nice if you wanted to keep a full x16 lane open for something else, like a RAID card or something.

hy 440 looks decent, a gts520 ain't so bad actually, and not like how people make it sound even with a gts520 you can still play some games but don't expect it to be as beautiful in the eyes as what the higher end has to offer.

"Ain't so bad"?

The cheapest GT 520 is $50, the cheapest GT 430 is $50.

It's quite obvious that the GT 520 is a bad choice.

One of my friends has the GT220 which seems quite similar to the GT520 aside from being DDR3. It's crap even at 1024x768. A GT430 would be a much better choice (96sp's compared to 48 on the gt520).
