didn't california and oregon have outages all the time during summer months cause air conditioners couldn't keep up,
Not that I know of. I'd be very surprised if Oregon and Northern California even have air conditioning in most households. That's part of why the prior heat wave was so lethal. That and the fact the little air conditioning we have literally could not keep up at any level.

We've bailed out California many times so I doubt if such a hypothetical happened we'd not have stepped in.

Back in the '90s (and later, to an extent), power issues were common enough in CA that a moderately-successful punk band called themselves the Rolling Blackouts.

And guess who bailed them out? I'm well aware of Southern California Edisons failings there. They buy our electric over it. We do tend to deal with their messes about once a decade.

To be fair there are other contributors... but we are quite a chunk of their energy purchases.

I hope you are correct, but there would be an easy way to find out, figure out how much kilowatt hours are being used by the current green sources in that region, and see how much spare they have. didn't california and oregon have outages all the time during summer months cause air conditioners couldn't keep up, I'm surprised the grid didn't expand down south from wash state.

but im running off topic now. best i go before i get in trouble again LOL
That would be California.

yeah but you can't just move to a country without a visa sponsorship of some kind. refugee status, ancestry claims, or work sponsorship is about the only way to do it if I want to move from USA to Europe... doesn't seem fair someone can just move to America so easily...
YEah dude, same here, I've wanted to live in Europe forever, recently been working on my Irish citizenship since my grandfather on my dad's side was born their, he fled in 1916 since he was involved in the easter rising

Washington and BC both are pretty strong in that department. I'm Washintonian.
What part of Washington if you don't mind me asking. I was born and raised in Enumclaw and moved to Alaska in '82 via the army,

Been all over the state at various points but home is really Olympia, technically more rural Thurston County, but yeah. I was technically born in SoCal: San Bernardino, but moved to Olympia in the very early 90s and was basically raised there. Remember just enough about SoCal to remember the problems, not much more, sadly (Air Quality issues was a big motivator to move then).

Yeah GPU price in US may never go back to normal now haha

that moment when you regret selling your rx 6800 and 5600x setup cause you thought markets would go back to normal in 2022...

RIP me haha, nah its ok i still don't mind my gtx 1070 laptop. but yeah I got wee bit of regret in there too. heh its all good. im waiting for rtx 3xxx super refresh of laptops... hopefully february 2022, that will be my upgrade, and hopefully one with great cooling to boot. and i think they are improving on cooling, lots of companies using liquid metal now, etc. so it is getting better over time.

How could they move here that easily? I have tried for years and years to get a work visa for Canada or Europe/UK, and its damn near impossible unless you majored in something that is very in-demand.
The answer is, as usual, money. If you have a lot of it, rules apply to you a little less, and the more you have, less of a hindrance rules are.
Yes, poor people have to waste years on education and job experience to get a small chance that they will fit what's in dement at the time. If you have money, you can just buy yourself a green card, last time I checked the cost was between 80 and 250 000 USD, depending on how fast do you want to get it. There are companies specializing in it, they use their own political connections, (probably) bribes and such. For someone who owns a multi-million dollar business, getting to the US is actually very simple.
